5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile Everyday Pan! 22 Mar. 2010
By R. Chin - Published on Amazon.com
Excellent non-stick properties, but like every other non-stick coating I have ever come across, it will eventually start to peel. Important differences that I should point out though are: 1) Much easier to brown on this pan, not sure if it's because of the high heat that this non-stick pan can handle, or the fact that because it is a large sized pan foods can more easily be spread out so things don't parboil; 2) Oil doesn't seem to smoke; 3) It's lasted longer than any other of our non-stick pans with everyday abuse; 4) can handle our oven at 500 degrees; AND 5) (and most important) The SCANPAN company truly does seem to stand behind their product! I called up about 2-3 weeks ago noting that my pan was starting to peel (just a few small scratches/peels near the center), and they immediately emailed me a RA # and form to return the damaged pan and less than 2-weeks after I sent in my original Chef/Saute pan, we received via FedEx a brand new one.

Sizewise, it's noticeably larger (wider and deeper) than Calphalon's Everyday Pans (Simply Calpholon or Contemporary versions) but not too big like the Ecolution Artistry 14 Inch Colossus Pan (all available on Amazon by the way). BUT, it is much more expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scanpan rocks! 23 Feb. 2011

Yes, this line of cookware is expensive. And yes, it is worth it. I have a gas stove, so I do not have a "must be level" issue. This pan just replaced 3 older pieces of cookware (I did keep my Revereware pan - sentimental). It heats and cooks evenly, uses less heat to cook completely, and cleans up like a dream. The manufacturer says this can go in the dishwasher, but I do not do that with my good pans. I have decided to replace all of my old cookware with Scanpan items.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best non-stick pan I've bought so far 11 Feb. 2013

Our family eats almost all our meals at home and thus, my pots and pans are all very well used. I went through many non-stick pans over the years - Faberware, Anolon, Calphalon but none was able to give me the heat & evenness for stirfrys like this one on a medium heat setting on my stove. Hopefully, the non-stick of this pan will last beyond the 2+ years that I often get from my other pans since it is the most expensive pan I've bought to date. While it says I can use metal utensils on it, I still use wooden utensils and hand wash it in order to prolong its life span like I do for all my previous non-stick pans.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a skillet! 31 Mar. 2014

I just got this last week and have used it a few times. It is even better than the old Scanpans. I love the short handles on each side which made storing it easier, and the handles do not get hot. It cooks evenly and clean up is a cinch.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME 27 Mar. 2013

This pan is a great size, the lack of a long handle makes it great for serving too. We got it just yesterday and ended up pan frying some meatballs and making a white sauce in it. It cleans up in a snap too.
