I love Griff Hosker books and I have enjoyed this series. If it weren't for the highly noticeable lack of proof reading I'd give it at least a 4 star rating, but no proofreading means I can only justify 1 star as it is so bad. Sometimes I just have to give up and move on when reading this series. For example the names of the characters seem interchangeable, sometimes leading to ridiculous mix ups and sometimes meaning one just can't get what Griff is trying to say. In one chapter he tells us King Edwin has fled to the Isle of Man and the next that is all forgotten and he is back in Northumbria!

Love the story and the characters. I've read most of his books now, and find them all to be action packed, and exciting. The 2 mark is for the dire punctuation, grammar, missing words, added words etc. He needs to get a decent proof reader,as it is really bad.I nearly never started another series because of it.But did, and found it just as bad.

I am quite enjoying this series which puts a newish spin on Arthurian legend. This picks up from the end of the previous volume. Mr Hosker is no Cornwell, bu a most entertaining read.

Another great book, the more dead Saxons the better. Is there more to come?, I hope so, looking forward to the next one.

The characters live, fast paced, little touches to link myth and legend. Hope there is more but that is down to Wyrd.
