Muriel Garcia has produce an amazing debut novel. The story is based on Ayden and Ant who have grown up together all their lives with their dads both being in the same MC. They have grown so close to each and give in to their feelings, but how long will their relationship last when events happen to destroy their lives. To find out more you will need to read Saving Ayden. Well done for an excellent debut novel Muriel Garcia. Can't wait to see what's next to come.

Choosing to read this was a huge step out of the normal for me. The only reason I bought it was because I won a copy of Teaching Aleck (book 2) therefore I needed to read book 1 first. I have never ever read any MC books and really didn't think it would be my thing at all.
Boy was I wrong?? I read this book in a day. It captivated me and pulled me in, the kids had to feed themselves and the husband got ignored!
Muriel did a fantastic job with her debut novel and I imagine they only get better.
I haven't had time to read book 2 yet as I have had a few other books scheduled to be read first but I can't wait to get back into the MC world.
So what have I learnt? Don't judge a book by its genre. Give it a chance and you may just like it!

This book perplexed me. I got the sample and thought 'ooo, this looks like a good one' and promptly bought it. Very quickly it became apparent it wasn't going to live up to my expectations.

Another reviewer said it wasn't full of cliches. This is very true but, for me, this was a negative. When you read an MC book you expect certain things and, on this front, it didn't deliver.

This book doesn't give much of an insight into MC life. These characters are supposedly 1%ers - they are happy to kill people. But, it was all too twee - too nice. I can't count the number of times Anthony called Ayden 'adorable'. I grew to hate that word. It was not a 'hot' or 'steamy' book (not that it needs to be to be a great read). During one scene Anthony repeatedly (oh and I mean repeatedly) uses the phrase 'sweet seduction'.... it became a tad cringeworthy.

Anthony, and the rest of his MC brothers have no road names. They apparently have no officers other than the President. I found this strange and Anthony was too soft a name for the supposed president of an MC. He would in no way command my respect.

The story as a whole had potential but was under-developed with holes. When Ayden suffers a very traumatic event at only 18. She returns home distressed and immediately packs her bags to leave, saying she just can't stay. Seeing her daughter in a terrible state and hugely upset what does her mother do? Stop her? Call her dad (the then MC president), ehh no.... she just lets her go. Totally unbelievable for a supposedly close family.. There are many other things like this that just don't work.

This book is what I call 'Biker-lite' - a wanna be MC book that doesn't go the full hog - it needed some b@lls! There are a number of editing issues with the book and can't see me reading any more of the series.

I was lucky to win the set of kindle books for this series. Wow this first book was one hell of an emotional roller coaster but one that I didn't want to end!!
Ayden and Anthony have been best friends for years, just as they start to realise that friendship is just not enough for them anymore, that in fact for a few years now they have been falling in love with each other, life then throws their new relationship into turmoil. There were hardhitting scenes that had me holding my breath and tears rolling down my face!!! Other scenes had me melting in a puddle and swooning at how loving Anthony was towards Ayden.
I loved this book, it gripped my heart, the pace of the story was just right and the sense of family within the MC was described brilliantly!!! I have no doubt recommending this to other lovers of MC or hardhitting books!! Bring on book 2 :) xx

My Review
Anthony and Ayden have been best friends forever, they've seen each other in every state possible and when they realise that they no longer look at each other as merely friends....they start dating. Something happens (i'm not telling you what!) and things go very wrong! Ayden has to leave, she has to run away.
When she walks back into Anthony's life 6 years later will they be able to face the past together and finally move forward? or will the same demons destroy their fairy tale all over again?

This is the debut novel from Ms Garcia and as such...its a little rough around the edges. The premise for the story is amazingly intricate and leaves a lot of roads open for follow on novels. I Loved Ayden, she was a strong character that managed to move past a pretty traumatic upbringing but it became a tad repetitive.
However! i really did enjoy the book and i'm looking forward to jumping into 'Teaching Aleck'

A really good debut novel from Muriel Garcia.
Ayden and Ant have both been brought up within an MC and they are best friends, on Aydens 18th birthday they both give into their feelings and become a couple. Weeks later Ayden is kidnapped and goes through hell at the hands of her kidnapper. Will she escape and if she does can she go back to the MC or will she be forced to leave everything and everyone she loves behind. I really felt for Ayden and everything she went through and Ant even though he's this bad boy biker the way he is with Ayden shows just what she means to him this book pulled me in from the first page and I'm looking forward to what Muriel gives us next.
