(You need to read the technical instruction on how to use it tough - it took me a while to find the button to turn up the full volume and the change form cable use bluetooth)
Bluetooth pairing is fast and easy and converting to a cable connection takes only a few seconds.
Well worth the money.
It doesn't pretend to be a huge sound system but it packs quite a punch for its size. Its very small and lightweight(fits in your pocket)and comes with a cushioned little handy bag and the necessary leads.
Was easy to connect to with a HTC Desire and for its size sounds amazing( with bass extended),on turning it up to full volume it was quite loud, didn't distort and was very clear.
Overall most impressed, haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life although its easy to charge with USB connection.
Looks super cool sat on a table, comes with simple instructions. Quality little portable speaker for the money !
The Bluetooth connection was easy to configure with both my iPhone and iPad. And I've configured two on my iPhone--one at home and one at the office. They both work without confusion. Not sure what would happen if they were in the same room.
The local nature of the Bluetooth connection creates a nice feature. When I leave my office--carrying my iPhone--the connection is broken and the song or audio book pauses. There is no need to spend time shutting it when I'm on the run. And, more importantly, there is no missed music or book chapter. Very nice.
I have two, but haven't tried to connect them. I'm guessing this works as advertised. I'm very happy with both of them. Much nicer than either of the wire-based speaker systems I've tried. I'd buy them again without hesitation.
There is a `user's manual' barely the size of a postage stamp, and I defy anyone with normal human vision to be able to read it without a magnifier. Some examples of the text:
"Work with the Bluetooth for wireless transmit
"Pressing the switch for long time the opening machine mode is bluetooth mode then to use the key of the equipment to search the product connecting it is OK"
If you can make sense of this, you're a better interpreter than I. You'd think that getting a competent English-language translation for the instructions would be a priority if the device is being sold in non-Chinese speaking markets, but obviously the inclusion of instructions-for-use was an afterthought.
The device has a built-in 10cm-connecting cable with ipod jack, and a mini-USB socket for the charging cable.
* The controls are so small as to be almost invisible to the naked eye, they are in no way designed to be intuitive and their functions are not explained by the postage-stamp sized gobbledygook in the `instruction manual'. This means you have to be clever, experienced and patient if you want to make it work
* The Bluetooth function is very difficult to pair. It refused to pair with my ipod at all, but finally paired with my wife's portable tablet (which was in a different part of the building)
* The device has a spring-out expanding speaker like the X-mini & other competitors, but here it's claimed to contain a `patented vacuum bass system'. The sound quality is just about acceptable if your expectations are not too high, but not very loud and a bit `tinny'.Read more ›
The Satechi Bluetooth Wireless speaker has an award-winning pocket size capsule design. It easily fits in your pocket, it tried it myself and it fits fine. It even comes with a pouch to store the speaker, so it won’t get any scratches at all. The speaker has a vacuum-bass technology system which you can slide out to provide you a better sound quality. It connects via Bluetooth and the speaker has a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. You can simply recharge it via the included USB cable. When you are charging the speaker, it’s even possible to listen to it at the same time. When you turn the speaker on, you hear a little jingle and the blue light is blinking. To charge the speaker from 0% to 100% takes around 3 hours.
For the price you pay for this speaker, the sound is really good. I didn’t find any paring issues at all, and the sound quality is what I expected. It has multifunctional buttons to power on/off, play/pause, skip track/previous track and many more. When connected, you can even make a phone call and the sound goes through the speaker. I tried this out myself and it worked very well. On the Satechi site, I read that it’s possible to connect multiple Satechi Bluetooth speaker at the same time, unfortunately I can’t test this out since I have one Satechi speaker (only via 3.5 mm cable). The rechargeable battery is optimized for 6 hours of playtime. That’s really good for this little device if you ask me! I had this with me on holiday to play a little bit of music at our holiday house, and I liked it very much. It doesn’t have a sloppy sound quality like most of the speakers in this price range has. I liked it very much, even when on low volume. it still provides me a good quality of music. I like it very much!Read more ›
