Bigger Numbers Doesnt Mean better Performance, the hd5870 wipes the floor with the hd7770 (nearly twice the speed)& 260X and is even faster than the GTX 570, 256bit and above cards are the way to go. Forget 128bit cards for gaming, doesnt matter if they have more vram, they will always be a LOT slower.

Every game i have thrown at this card with my FX 8320 computer running at 4.8GHz has flown upto and past the 60Hz/fps barrier, this is an amazing card even though its quite old. This card offers killer 1080p gaming performance for not much money if you look around, i paid £50 for mine so im really happy!
It is also a massive number cruncher with video rendering and editing, halving my work time and giving outstanding results, you can obviously run the card in crossfire with another 5830,5850,or 5870, but for 1080p gaming you really wont need to at all.
The fan assembly is only loud"ish" during very high loads, rest of the time its practically silent in operation, the card itself feels and looks really high quality and its powered by 2x6pin power connectors from the power supply.

Its big! dont even think of trying to fit it to a htpc case its over 11" in length so thats a no-go unless your htpc case is specially designed for large graphics boards.
There is really no need to buy a new gen card save a load of cash and get one of these because theyre amazing with a decent cpu, back in the day i had a XFX hd4870 1gb, that thing was amazing and lasted me for years, in fact it was quite a bit faster than the hd5770 i replaced it with, wish i hadnt of bothered tbh.
At max power the card will draw 187watts, so with that in mind a good quality 500watt power supply is all you will need to power one of these, i mean good quality though, not one of those cheap chinese rubbish psu's that blow up in your face.
I wholeheartedly recommend Antec in this department they are built to last and can deliver the amps without the fear of a fire breaking out.
The Antec TRUE550P is a great budget good quality supply it is 530w max with 36amps on the 12v line.
Despite what people say you dont need a bazillion watts at all, it is BS
As you can see in the picture the card takes up 2 slots and has 2xdvi display port and hdmi, and will power 3 monitors, myself personally would rather just use one large screen, so its going to be connected to a 92" projector screen via hdmi, the card also has a very good 7.1 soundcard built in too for your home theatre needs.
I would also like to mention my particular card can be overvolted too and overclocked very high if needed, but tbh i dont need to, but if youre into that sort of thing its there.
