Praise for ‘Santa Wore Leathers’ -

“This is the first book I’ve read by Vonnie Davis and I can assure you it won’t be the last.” – HarlequinJunkie

“What Vonnie Davis has managed to pack into her fairly short book was so freaking good that as soon as I've posted this review I'm going straight back to start it all over again.” – Tina Hart, Goodreads Reviewer

About the Author

For years I’ve been a romance junkie, devouring each one like warm, chocolate chip cookies. Perhaps that’s why I adore writing about love and passion. Passion―such a powerful word, don’t you think? I’d classify myself as a late bloomer. I started college in my late forties, met the love of my life in my mid-fifties and published my first book in my early sixties. My husband and I live in Southern Virginia. We enjoy spoiling the grandchildren and traveling. My deepest desire is to write saucy, often humorous romances you’ll cherish long after you’ve turned off the e-reader.

Becca is a reporter and she has a blog. If she manages to gather enough followers that will earn her a column in the paper she's working for, that's her number one wish. Becca is living on her own. She's been badly hurt in the past and doesn't want to give her heart to someone again. She's going to spend a quiet Christmas, one without any disturbances...

Becca's next door neigbor, Wolf, is the current star of her blog posts. He's got a bike, he's gorgeous and he's entertaining lots of women. There's plenty to write about. When Wolf tries to charm Becca she doesn't want to give into this. He's a womanizer and she doesn't want to have a broken heart again. Is this really the best decision?

Santa Wore Leathers is a sexy story about two beautiful people who both deserve some happiness. I loved the chemistry between Becca and Wolf. They have such a great connection. Another thing I really liked about this story was Becca's dog. He's absolutely fantastic and his actions managed to put a smile on my face many times.

Becca is vulnerable and Wolf has a difficult past. Vonnie Davis has given her characters some heavy baggage. That made it easy to feel for them and to like them even more. Fortunately there were some unexpected twists and turns, I love to be surprised. I really enjoyed reading this Christmas story and highly recommend it if you're looking for a hot holiday read.

Santa Wore Leathers. Vonnie Davis

Review from Jeannie Zelos Book Reviews.

Having just read a couple of fairly heavy paranormals I wanted something light and easy - and this was just perfect. ........its a short, sweet read, with some great humour. Becca's a lovely girl, dumped by her ex on Christmas Eve she's not ready for a new relationship. Then the man next door moves in, sex on legs, he has a steady stream of gorgeous women visiting him. Becca writes about him in her blog, calls him the man whore, and describes him and his visitors in a humorous, whimsical way. She needs to get the blog stepped up as part of her career move. Then she learns more about Wolf, as her neighbour is called, events bring them together and then...just when all's going well he learns she's a reporter - and he hates those...
Its a gentle romance, with some spicy parts, lots of humour - and I love Einstein her dog, and his penchant for her underwear....if you're looking for something light to while away an hour or so this is perfect. Its a short read at 112 pages, but that's what many busy people want, a book they can finish. Personally I usually want longer books, but sometimes, as in this instance, I just want a light, quick and easy read and this does that.
Stars: four. Fun read, too light for a five from me but a good four.

I love the authors ease with words. She tells the story with care, enthusiasm and more wit than you could shake a stick at. Just my type of book. She is on my favourites list.

I was laughing my duck off in the first few pages and several chapters in I lost count of the scrotum references, whether it be the dogs bits or the hotties. All of which made me laugh.

It's a story with a broken heart which needs to be mended, trust issues from previous shitty relationships and a 'don't judge a book by it's cover' love interest. The heart is owned by a firey, sulky, red headed protagonist who fights off the advances of her new sexy neighbour, only to have her legs knocked bandy with one 'blue steel' look. One minute she is say 'Ah, ah' and the 'Ooo aaaa'. The fact he is a fireman and knows how to handle her firey temperament as well as get her hot under the collar doesn't go a miss.

I was a bit peeved at his waffling on throughout the naughty bits, it was like a radio presenter or sports commentators. I would yell 'Just F*** me already!' or pull my blindfold off and gag him with it.

Their relationship challenged misconceptions on who we chose to date or not, based on what the person does for a living. I for instance would never consider dating an accountant no matter how good he was with his digits (ahem). I can't save enough money to next pay day and often store it in my bra. I am an accountants worst nightmare. I have visions of them asking for a receipt after sex... not that I charge but you get my meaning... preconceived ideals.

This book reminds us that love is a tricky, addictive and euphoric. The broken hearted avoid like the plague only to fall hard and fast just when they thought they were safe.

The title and cover of 'Santa Wore Leathers' drew me right into this book even though I read it out of season.

Becca, a reporter still hurting from her failed marriage uses her witty blog to further her career. The current subject is her new neighbour an undoubtedly sexy man with the morals of an alley cat. Einstein her lovable German Shepherd dog is a delight. His penchant for stealing Becca's sexy underwear and notable matchmaking skills appeals to all the doggy lovers like me.

When Becca meets Dan a.k.a. Wolf she feels an instant attraction but is unwilling to set herself up for another fall. Dan is smitten and determined to charm her into his bed. Misunderstandings and interventions from senior neighbours all add to the humour and complexity of this love story.

This not a traditional Christmas romance, the sentiment and goodwill attached to the season are interwoven into the storyline but the powerful interplay between Becca and Wolf as they learn to trust takes centre stage. The plot and characters are well developed and it reads more like a novel than a novella.

'Santa Wore Leathers' is a sexy, feel good romance. A recommended read whatever the season.
