Hello and welcome to my Author page. I grew up in Durango, Mexico, where I attended numerous creative writing, philosophy, psychology and healing workshops, as well as other arts and crafts, before eventually moving to the UK to do a MA in Creative Writing at Newcastle University. I also took CW workshops in the UK, Spain, USA and Canada for further enhancement of the craft, and now all those explored areas play a big part in my writing.
So far I’ve written two novels and a short story collection: Tales from the Rooftop, (Cuentos de la Azotea) which exists in English on Kindle and also in a paperback bilingual edition), La Sombra Detrás (The Shadow Behind – translation status: “Soon!”), and Wideawake, written originally in English and patiently waiting to be appointed its translation slot. Three of my short stories were shortlisted in contests in Mexico and Canada, and have been published in the corresponding anthologies that came out of said contests: La Visita (Visitor) and El Tesoro (Treasure) in “Voces sin Fronteras II” (Alondras Editions, Canada, 2012); and Las Palomas (Pigeons), in “Cada Loco Con Su Tema” (Grupo Editorial BENMA, Mexico, 2013).
Additionally, I also keep a personal blog: That Voice in my Head, meant to be an outlet for me and a healing experience for the readers as well. In it I explore subjects of literature, culture and spirituality that I’m passionate about.
I’m currently working in a five-part Fantasy saga called Pentacle, of which the first part, Memories of the Wind, is nearly finished, and a second short story collection as well! I live in Glastonbury with my husband, actor and playwright Stephen Cole, and our imaginary cat, Soddit the Cat, who stars in his own short story in the English version of Tales from the Rooftop.
Thank you for reading and best wishes to all!
