Fastest my Macbook has ever been!

Wow, this is genuinely the best and most noticeable upgrade I've ever done to a computer. I have a 2012 Macbook Pro 12" with 8Gb RAM, it did have the standard 5400RPM HDD before this upgrade. After the upgrade to Yosemite the Macbook was taking just over one minute to boot to the login screen, I tried everything and managed to cut this by only ten second, even more frustrating.

Eventually I bought this SandDisk Ultra II 960Gb SSD and a USB 3.0 external enclosure. Firstly the size of the SSD took me by surprise, it's only a small box and when you open it theirs simply the SSD, spacer and installation guide. I fitted the SSD into the external enclosure and cloned my Macbook's HDD to the SSD, this took around five hours so I left it overnight. In the morning before work I quickly swapped the drives (following an easy Macbook specific online guide) and booted up the Macbook.

Wow

The Macbook now boots to login screen in twelve seconds (it used to take just over one minute). Overall everything is faster and snappier, files copy instantly and Photoshop opens almost instantly. i would recommend this upgrade to anybody looking to massively improve their computer's performance.

Quick tip: If installing on a MacBook make sure you've set this as your boot drive in Settings, also enable TRIM.

Time saved is worth the investment

Have upgraded external hard disks for doing back ups with these 2.5 inch SSD's. You can use it with just a correct cable which comes with connector but suggest better to give it more protection by using an enclosure. Data back ups now take half the time than previously or less. Worth the investment especially if you can charge for business. Now upgraded 9 laptops also with SSD's and most were SanDisk Ultra II, some Kingston, and One Samsung Evo 850. All performing beautifully. (Keeping the old hard disk drives for quick swap out should criminal ransomeware strikes.)

Fast fast fast

Not entirely sure the huge increase in speed is due to this being a SanDisk, or if I would have received the same boost from any SSD.
But, the key point is that this is fast. Really fast. So much so that you just wont be able to go back again, you will think your computer has broken!

Everything just happens so much faster. Boot up, shut down, program stars, everything.

Buy it, you wont regret it

I resisted going SSD for SO long. It just didn't feel worth compromising space and cost for speed.

But my god these things are BLISTERING. From cold to usable my desktop now loads in 15 seconds. Shut down takes about 10 seconds.

When you installed something in the past and had to restart your computer, I would usually hit reset then go make a brew but with this there is no need at all.

The change in boot up time is extraordinary. Lightning fast. Boots up in less than 20 sec. Like an iPad when you first use it. If I could afford it I would have all 3 drives as ssd. Its been installed for a month, and so far no problems at all. Installation was simple.

A Great Solid State Drive

Had my local PC expert install this today and migrate over my "C" disk to this, renaming this larger one as "C" Everything went perfect and I now have lots of room on my main drive plus a spare 250 GB "E" drive (my old SSD) plus the 2TB spinning drive which I'll now use just for data storage.

This San Disk Drive is really fast and my engineer tells me its a great drive too, so I'm very pleased. It was a great price and fast delivery (next day, mid-day) from Amazon

Great improvement in performance for my laptop, at a relative low cost

I am a software developer, mainly with Visual Studio. When I considered to buy a new laptop I couldn't find one that would have what I needed: a huge 16GB RAM and a decent SSD (or SSHD) drive for less than £350. I decided to go for a cheap laptop that had the 16GB RAM (which is the most difficult to get in the market) as I could always buy a new HDD and replace it myself. I started using my laptop and it was taking about 4 minutes to just load Windows, all because of my slow drive. I needed a replacement. And fast!

When I saw this on Black Friday for £140 I could not stop myself and bought it on the spot. When I replaced my laptop's own drive for this wonder, the load times went from 4 minutes to 7 seconds. My computer now does not heat as much as it did, battery lasts slightly longer and I ended up with a laptop with both of my requirements (16GB RAM and SSD drive) for exactly £350.

I would say that this brand is, however, a bit slower than others like Samsung. I have a Samsung SSD in my desktop computer and even though that one is over 2 years old it seems to perform faster. But it also costs way more than this little wonder.

Had a corrupted hard drive where I had failures 3 times. Engineers ran diagnostics and told me that the hard drive was still good however I knew better.

Bought myself this SSD and life has changed. Very fast start up time and opening applications. Would recommend the whole world to invest in SSD's.
