Boost your PC’s Performance
Boost your PC’s performance with quicker overall response and reliability. With nCache 2.0 technology SanDisk Ultra II delivers enhanced speeds and endurance.

|---|---|---|---|
Enhanced Speed TechnologySanDisk nCache 2.0 technology uses a powerful two-tiered architecture to cache all writes, enabling burst speeds. With nCache 2.0 everything is written into the high speed buffer and consolidated before it’s written into the NAND flash memory array. |
Endurance and Reliability Where it CountsDouble your drive reliability [2] - the more reliable your drive is, the less likely it is to crash. Proven shock and vibration resistance mean you won’t lose your data even if you drop your computer and, with dynamic and static wear levelling, the SanDisk Ultra II SSD is significantly more likely to last. |
A More Efficient DriveCool, quiet and more efficient than a hard disk drive [1], your battery lasts longer on a single charge and your laptop has a longer life. |
Always Know What’s Going OnWith the SanDisk SSD Dashboard, you can see at a glance how full your drive is and how well it’s performing. Third party cloning software makes upgrading to SSD easier, too. |
Trusted by The Pros and Dedicated to Flash Memory from Day One
In 1991, SanDisk was one of the pioneers of the SSD. More than 20 years later, SSDs continue to change the face of storage.

Eventually I bought this SandDisk Ultra II 960Gb SSD and a USB 3.0 external enclosure. Firstly the size of the SSD took me by surprise, it's only a small box and when you open it theirs simply the SSD, spacer and installation guide. I fitted the SSD into the external enclosure and cloned my Macbook's HDD to the SSD, this took around five hours so I left it overnight. In the morning before work I quickly swapped the drives (following an easy Macbook specific online guide) and booted up the Macbook.
Wow
The Macbook now boots to login screen in twelve seconds (it used to take just over one minute). Overall everything is faster and snappier, files copy instantly and Photoshop opens almost instantly. i would recommend this upgrade to anybody looking to massively improve their computer's performance.
Quick tip: If installing on a MacBook make sure you've set this as your boot drive in Settings, also enable TRIM.
Bought this SSD for a client build I completed recently, where budget was super strict and tight. I went back and forth between this and the SanDisk SSD Plus for a considerable time. In the end, I managed to juggle about a few items to make up the difference in price (which to be fair, wasn't a great difference.
Taking it out of the minimal packaging, which I like, you have the pretty much all black SSD, which will suit most custom builds. The SSD is 7mm thick, meaning it will fit in and notebook/laptop that takes a SATA drive.
Performance is great, I ran through the usual benchmarks and got pretty much all the quoted figures. Startup times are excellent as you would expect, this will make a massive difference to those of you still running spinning disks. For large file read and writes, you are going to pretty much saturate a SATA3 interface.
The SanDisk SSD Dashboard was surprisingly good, it's a really nice, clean interface that is easy to use and navigate. Firmware updates can be done from the software, as well as a few other features. You will want to make sure to register your 3 year warranty through the SanDisk website, which again was nice and easy.
All in all, a great budget SSD with great performance. The 3 year warranty is a boost and you really can't go wrong for the money.

I spent some time having a look at the current range of MacBooks wondering if it may be time to just get a new computer, however, I found that the included storage was completely inadequate (something of a trend right across all manufacturers, not just Apple), and they come with soldered in flash based memory that cannot be upgraded. My only alternative was to replace the hard drive with a solid state drive, and this Sandisk Ultra II SSD seemed to offer a balance of speed, size and price, so I decided to give it a go instead of throwing a truck load of cash at a new laptop.
Anyone who has fitted one of these drives will tell you it's very easy, simple almost, the cloning of the old hard drive is what takes the time. Once installation was complete, I started my Macbook up and it took a couple of minutes to acquaint itself with it's new drive, after that, the speed increases were impressive. It now starts up in thirty seconds, as opposed to the five minutes it used to take. It now takes Lightroom three minutes to stitch together five 28gb files into a panorama, that used to take anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes! Even opening web pages is quicker, my computer is now running better than when it was new!
This SSD has saved my old MacBook from going on the scrapheap, as that's all it used to be good for, it really is worth the money for the performance increases I have seen.
Purchased this SSD to hopefully speed up my ageing Dell laptop which was taking over four minutes to boot and apps were also slow to open. Its made of plastic and is very light and thinner compared to the original 2.5 HD. It came with a 'spacer' to make it thicker and fit better in the drive bay.
I installed the SSD into the ORICO 2.5" Inch USB 3.0 SATA External HDD/SSD Enclosure, which cost £8.99. I then plugged into the laptop USB and using Windows Disc Management, formatted the SSD then 'Allocated' the volume by right clicking the new drive and selecting 'Simple Volume'. During the format process an extra 9.31gb unallocated partition was created, which I could not 'expand' the main partition into until after the cloning and migration process, easily carried out using EaseUS Todo Back Up and then installing the SSD into my laptop.
I immediately noticed a big difference to boot times, which now takes less than 50 seconds. Apps also open quicker and run a little faster. If my laptop was newer and had a faster CPU, I think the boot time would be even better. Disappointingly, this Ultra version is supposed to be faster than the Plus version, however on my laptop they are about the same, hence only 4 stars. SSD's are expensive for what they are, but it has rejuvenated my reliable if some what ageing laptop.
