Anyway, I digress. This card appears to be nippy, easily exceeding it's 10MB/S write speed statndards. In fact, when I plug it in to the "normal" SD card converter thingy and plug it into my PC, I get write speeds of 20MB/S.
So buy with confidence. The only thing you need to worry about is losing it. But that's hardly the fault of the card!!!
Genuinely who gives a Sierra Hotel Indigo Tango about the read and write speeds? Does it work? Yes...fine I'll get on with my life. Does it work? No...fine I'll return for a replacement. Does it work? Well it does but I'd like to confirm the speeds to ensure I have gotten value for money and.....FOR the love of GOD...just perish
I already have several of these cards and use them in tablets (Samsung), GoPro and an in-car dash cam. These cards have a good data transfer speed which allows recordings/pictures to be stored faster.
The adapter included with the MicroSD card allows you to view files straight from the card via a card reader. I rarely use these as it's easier to just plug the device into a computer/laptop via a USB cable.
I don't think there is much more I can write about the product. If you have any questions that I may be able to help with. Please feel free to ask!
P
I bought this after I bought by mistake a 32 Gb version of the same card, so be careful when you make the selection.
I used the card in my new GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition for underwater filming and for my trips on my motorcycle. I used it at the highest settings (4K and the highest fps rate) without any problems.
IMPORTANT!!! I thought I lost all the data when I wanted to transfer it into my computer as the card suddenly became unuseable. After I spent another £40+ on software to recover the data I managed to get it for free and very easily using the "chkdsk " function in CMD. There are instructions online. I have been adviset to format it in NTFS instead of the FAT, but have not tried it yet.
It recently failed and is not unusable. I lost a few family photos thankfully I had done a backup the week before.
Performance wise it is fine. Transferred quickly.
Wont format now, tried the phone and the (SD Association) SD formatting app on windows and they both wont work.
After owning dozens of memory card over the years this is the first one that has failed. Perhaps I have been lucky. Ordered a Toshiba to replace it and will see how that goes.
I've used 3 of these in various devices for almost a year with no problems; on the other hand 2 64GB versions have failed after some time.
This is rated 38-42MB/s read though there is now a newer version that looks exactly the same but reads up to 75-82MB/s. In both cases the write is still the bog-standard 14MB/s just somewhat above the Class 10 rating.
If you're getting one now might as well track down the newer version as even on a modern phone it does make a difference.
As see amazon no longer has this item available so hopefully this has been investigated. Amazon have given me an immediate refund so no problems there, although I would much prefer the correct item.
