Endurance and reliability where it counts
Double your drive reliability - the more reliable your drive is, the less likely it is to crash. Plus proven shock and vibration resistance mean you won’t lose your data even if you drop your computer.
Easy set-up and real-time drive status
The SanDisk SSD Dashboard provides a full-service software suite that highlights available offers from other software providers for cloning and security applications. It also lets you see at a glance how full your drive is and how well it’s performing.
A more efficient drive
Cool, quiet and more efficient than a hard disk drive , your battery lasts longer on a single charge and your laptop has a longer life.

It arrived in basic packaging and I was surprised at how light and cheap it felt. For the price I paid though I'm still happy, The load time on my PC has now gone from around 90 seconds to around 15 seconds. Good size for what I need as I'm only using it for the operating system, all my media and work files are stored on SATA
Having used the drive for some time I continue to be happy however there are some caveats. Download Sandisk Dashboard. Make sure Trim is enabled and that Auto defrag is disabled. Never defrag or low level format the drive,
Having moved this drive into a more modern motherboard (UEFI bios with AHCI) I have struggled with continual freezing of the SSD. In spite of trying "Sanitizing", having Trim on and off, extensive googling of "sandisk ssd freezing"and 5 days of fresh installs and re-imaging, has caused me to conclude that there probably is a technical issue with the drive as far as W7 goes. So I RMAed it to Sandisk. They didn't haggle over the issue and sent out a brand-new and probably up-specced unit. Doing a fresh install of W7 I continue to be amazed at the speed injection these ssds provide: Off to useable desktop ~15 secs! So I can easily defend my original 5* rating. Now things do go wrong so that isn't an automatic penalty for SanDisk. However, they chose to locate their European centre in the Czech republic and to use slowmail for carriage taking 17 days end to end. So I have re-rated it to 4*. Apologies to any purchaser who has been misled by my original review.
Bought this item roughly 9 months ago, in that time the SSD has corrupted once in January (nothing changed to cause this issue in particular other than maybe a W10 update, nothing clear changed other than that). A few days ago on Saturday after me thinking that was just a one off, my device blue screened, after rebooting into the BIOS my device could no longer even see the SSD. Changed the cable and port but didn't make a difference, it's not the MOBO because my second HDD could be seen from the BIOS.
Yes it's cheap so it's appealing to buy it but for an extra £10-£20 you can get a Crucial or Samsung SSD on Amazon which in my experience have always been much more reliable and are worth the extra money.
DO NOT BUY SANDISK.
I don't know much about SSD specs and what makes a good SSD, but I trust SanDisk as a storage brand, and at the time, this was a great price for the amount of storage on SSD. I would definitely recommend buying this for a new build, or to through in an old laptop to help out a bit. You could opt for a smaller drive if it is just a boot drive and you want to save money, but for a bit extra, I would recommend buying a bigger drive, as you will want to put more and more on it to make use of the speed.
I do hope i won’t ever have to go back to a HDD as i think the 15s boot time has me spoilt haha
Overall great SSD highly recommended!
Starts up in about 20 seconds now. Opens programs super fast and make having a pc worthwhile once more. Drives are small, but as we store documents on the cloud these days, the need for huge drives seems redundant. If you do want extra storage, do what I did, and replace the DVD drive with your old hard drive.
Best upgrade ever.
