Endurance and Reliability Where it Counts
Double your drive reliability - the more reliable your drive is, the less likely it is to crash. Plus proven shock and vibration resistance mean you won’t lose your data even if you drop your computer.
Easy Set-Up and Real-Time Drive Status
The SanDisk SSD Dashboard provides a full-service software suite that highlights available offers from other software providers for cloning and security applications. It also lets you see at a glance how full your drive is and how well it’s performing.
A More Efficient Drive
Cool, quiet and more efficient than a hard disk drive , your battery lasts longer on a single charge and your laptop has a longer life.
Dedicated to Flash Memory from Day One
In 1991, SanDisk was one of the pioneers the SSD. More than 20 years later, SSDs continue to change the face of storage.
[*] Based on internal testing; performance may vary depending upon drive capacity, host device, OS and application. 1 MB=1,000,000 bytes.
[**] 1 GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. Actual user storage less.
As compared to 7200 RPM SATA 2.5 inch hard drive. Based on published specifications and internal benchmarking tests using PCMark Vantage scores.

Ok so the drive will be inside your machine and won't be seen, but first impressions count. The SanDisk drive has a very cheap plastic feel to it which made me wish I had opted to spend a little more and get the SamSung drive. However, on the plus side, if you're using this drive in a laptop, the plastic casing will help save a little on the weight.
Performance in a 2010 MacBook Pro is good and radically changes the user experience compared to that of a mechanical drive. The boot times are super fast, application load much faster than before and due to the fact that solid-state drives have no moving parts, they also help preserve the battery life also.
In summary, the SanDisk drive is a good product and performs very well. The only reason I've scored 4 stars and not 5, is simply down to the fact that the build quality feels cheap when compares to the SamSung Evo.
I say most cost effective way is to run an SSD like this as the system drive, with data stored on traditional cheaper spinning disks.
For performance sake, security footage is saved on the SSD and then backed up onto the normal drives.
It is still (touch wood) working just fine after even 3 years. Definitely a huge performance improvement over a traditional spinning disk.
For me this is a full recommendation and thumbs up for reliability. Would definitely keep sandisk in mind.
It has incredible reading and writing speeds, and will boot your pc/mac in half a heartbeat.
The computer boots in few seconds and the applications boots instantly, but the biggest bonus is the computer will run smoothly and never have lag issues when dealing with loads of opened apps.
Another improvement is the noise... it is so strange to have a macbook so quiet: it is incredible how the mechanical hard drive was noisy compared to this SSD!
I was lucky to buy it for 39 pound during a black Friday and I could say it was the best investment ever for my pc.
Reading speed: up to 530 MB/s
Writing speed: up to 440 MB/s
Sata 3.0 (6 Gb/s)
During my tests it performed almost as SanDisk declared performance:
Read: 516.0 MB/s
Write 355.9 MB/s
I bought this SSD to change my old Macbook Pro 2010 HDD. But before doing anything I had to transfer the data form my old HDD to the new SSD and... I had problems to make it work. the Mac was not able to recognise it at all when connected through USB. It looks like the SSD comes with no Partition at all therefore if you want to use it first you need to be sure you can create a partition and format it. It did not work both Mac or Windows PC.
Fortunately I have computers knowledge and I have the means to make it work: more than 1 computer at home. I had to take my PC and connect this SSD to a SATA connection ( as I said, forget about USB right out of the box ), create a partition and format it.
If I would be person with no computer knowledge or no other computer at home to do the job... i would be mostly doomed.
No good SANDISK, no good... please make a partition ... so people does not have this issue.
Then If you want to use it in a Mac you will find that the SANDISK soft to check the SSD is not available for Mac. Again... no good SANDISK, no good at all.
Besides all of that the SSD now works and it improved my old computer performance, it works correctly.
But because 2 issues above I CAN'T recommend this SSD for regular users as there is a unnecessary complexity. I CANT't recommend this SSD to advance users either because the performance is average.
So generally I don't recommend this SSD drive and I might not buy any other SANDISK SSD for Mac computers because I am a little bit disappointed about 2 incomprehensible decisions ( no partition , no Mac soft ).
