5.0 out of 5 stars Johnson: his culture and beliefs 5 Nov. 2014
By K. Wiens - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I've been a fan of the writings of Samuel Johnson for years. His writing is challenging, makes one think. He was quick witted, quirky, to some scary. This volume gives us insights into various aspects of the culture he lived in, his beliefs on a wide variety of subjects. Written by various experts in all these areas (religion, law, literature, etc), it is well worth the price and effort to read and master its subject matter.
