Samsung announce the XL2370 monitor, a 23-inch LCD 1080p / Full HD monitor, with a 'finger-slim' stylish Touch of Color design. As well as being very slim and attractively designed, the XL2370 has some impressive specifications. It features an LED backlight and boasts a very high (5,000,000:1) dynamic contrast ratio, providing great colours and deep blacks. The 1920 × 1080 resolution makes it perfect for watching 1080p HD content such as Blu-ray movies. Other features include a fast 2 ms video response time, which keeps the images sharp during high motion scenes, while the LED backlight reduces power consumption. The crystal-like bezel frame looks great, and helps to reduce glare, while the clear neck of the monitor gives the illusion that the monitor is floating.

It comes with digital and analogue cables (plus UK adapter depending on seller - mine did). I think the stand is very sturdy contrary to what other people have said and also I would mention that the viewing angle is adjustable. The adjusting mechanism is very stiff though, however you can be sure that once set the screen won't wobble. For analogue it has the AUTO mode which once pressed finds the perfect setting, and with digital (cable) it just works. I am running Windows 7 64 bit edition and this monitor worked without even installing the drivers supplied on a CD. The setting buttons are actually touch sensitive and they can be set so they turn off after about 10 seconds (all apart from the power button which is always on). It also has a few modes (e.g. Reading, Games, Movie) which I found very useful when switching between typing or reading documents and gaming.
The quality of the image is just perfect - it is bright, vivid and works straight out of the box without a ton of settings. There is really nothing else I would want from a screen with regards to image quality: gaming, movies and text (I read a lot on it) look amazing.
CONS: the back of the screen, the edges on the front and the base are all piano black - and I'm not going to say they are a dust magnet (as most shiny surfaces are) but dust is very visible and if you are like me you will need to clean it with a dry cloth everyday. Not a big deal, as it only takes about a minute but maybe some of you have a particular dislike to doing that.

Everything about this monitor is great for the money apart from those god damn buttons! They're touch sensitive LEDs on the front and they were temperamental from the very beginning. Most of the time they work, but sometimes they just take a bit of convincing and sometimes they take so much convincing that I find myself repeatedly hammering them with my finger out of frustration (which doesn't seem to help, but does make me feel slightly better)

I bought this monitor especially to be my primary screen for Xbox 360. The HDMI input makes it easy to connect both things together and I had no trouble with getting sound from the monitor being delivered through HDMI. Touch sensitive buttons on the front are very easy to use and it never happened to me to be unable to access the OSD, some people claim that these touch buttons are hard to use - in my experience this is not the case.
The image quality is somewhat hard to adjust to get correct correct results from games but overall it's not impossible and only requires some fine tuning for few games.

HOW TO CHANGE THE MENU FROM FOREIGN TO ENGLISH

If the language is foreign: Select Menu, the Fourth option, the Third option, English.

At first, my monitor believed it was in Hungary, and my menu was in Magyar. To change the language from Magyar to English:
Select Menu, BE-ES VISSZAALL, Nyelv, English.

If you want the lights at the bottom to stay ON: Select Menu, SETUP & RESET, LED On/Off, On

If you want the Menu to stay on LONGER: Select Menu, SETUP & RESET, Use the DOWN ARROW and then select Display Time, 200 sec

If you want to dim the lights at the bottom: Select Menu, SETUP & RESET, LED Brightness, 1

If you want the picture to fit the screen: Select Menu, SIZE & POSITION, Image Size, Screen Fit

If you want to increase sharpness to maximum: Select Menu, PICTURE, Sharpness, 100

I am presently delighted with this monitor.

Superb monitor - Samsung SyncMaster XL2370

Well, I spent almost 30 hours searching and comparing the right choice of monitor for my new Dell Studio XPS. I finally narrowed down to two of them - this Samsung and the other was one Dell monitor which had more than HD resolution (two screen can fit together perfectly alongside). However I went for Samsung as it was LED technology. I am very happy with this monitor. Truely amazing colours and picture quality. My table is not big enough and I have to work with just 18 inches distance. It is still comfortable in that distance. The 2ms response is great.

The only thing that I think is lacking is that it does not support 120 Hz of frequence hence I cannot play 3D using my Nvedia card..what a shame. I did not know before buying it. I guess this is the only thing that I left out.
