If you have some powered speakers to hand, you should be okay, the picture is good and the set is more solid than wobbly cheaper models. However, even if this is a second set for a bedroom, the sound quality will disappoint.
It is worth spending a few minutes tweaking the picture settings to get a better natural picture ( lower the contrast, add a bit more colour, turn off a couple of the software enhancements etc) this results in really vibrant picture with very little motion blur and good black contrast.
The sound is probably the weakest feature on the TV because of the very slim speakers, the bass sound is a little bit thin, if you wanted a more cinematic experience, it would be advisable to have a 2.1 sound system to complement it. However for TV viewing and general use it is not an issue. It does have a feature called hard of hearing mode as well, which emphasizes the S and F sounds and is a good feature for my Aunt to have.
The remote control is very well laid out with large buttons and intuitive menu choices. There is a little bit of a delay when you are changing through the channels but this seems to be the same with all Samsung TV's my 4 year old Samsung LCD included and is something that you become accustomed too.
Overall then it is a really good TV for the money and the led lighting is a noticeable improvement over standard lcd screens. It is very stylish and looks great on display. It is a good size TV for a small living room / bedroom / kitchen or caravan! If you want a cinematic experience I would choose a 32inch or larger led tv. I give it 4 stars.
