Hi, first off, let me say this review is for the S24B300HL model, several people on here are confused as to which model has/has no tilt. Well, let me tell you, this model doesn't, even though Samsung's website swears blind it does. I guess that is why the monitor is so cheap compared to the S24B300H even though they are very similar monitors.
Other than the lack of tilt, for which I'm deducting one star, the next problem I faced upon installing and powering up was the fact that there was a large black border all around the edge of the screen. A quick google revealed similar posts by others, it turns out as I'm using the HDMI output from my Radeon HD6770, it requires an advanced setting to be altered in the ATI Control Center. Turning the overscan up to full sorted it, but to be honest people shouldn't have to be digging around like this (ATI's fault really).
The buttons on the underside are a bit of a mare, this is my first monitor with touch-sensitive buttons and they take a bit of getting used to! Still I suppose I won't notice them after a while, once you get it set up you only use the on/off button.
This is the first monitor I've used where I've not had to fiddle with the brightness and colour for half a day, aside from changing the magic angle setting, I've left everything else on my unit alone and I'm happy overall with the monitor so far :) Just that niggle with no tilt :(
Still, if having no tilt doesn't bother you, I can recommend this monitor, it's large enough for most needs and the picture quality is very pleasing. Just remember what I said above if you are a Radeon HD owner trying to use HDMI and all should otherwise be plain sailing.
One final thing, Amazon, guaranteed delivery before 1pm does not mean 2pm. Fussy I know but I've got places to be. :)
