Inital set-up was so easy via the SmartThings app from my phone and is a great way to set up your new TV without all the log in faff of every app/streaming service you may have e.g Netflix/Prime etc.
The one remote is such a premium addition and compliments the TV nicely! From the brushed steel effect to the minimal button layout and solid build, it feels really expensive in the hand. And the slide mechanism for the batteries is a really cool addition too.
The One Connect box and cable is the biggest new tech for neat freaks, like myself. Keep all your wires out of sight, out of mind with this easy to install feature. It's looks great having no excessive wires or chunky HDMI cables leading from your TV down to your unit and sockets.
The sound quality on this TV is really impressive too, as TV's now get thinner and thinner sadly sound quality diminishes in this respect. But I was amazed how punchy the sound was when playing games. I did buy a compact Samsung soundbar however as I felt the TV lacked in bass and volume when it came to immerse yourself in the true 4K movie experience. But still impressive for TV speakers!
Now, onto the display.
I purchased the 55" model as this was for my bedroom. I agonised for months on which premium TV to buy for my 4K movie & gaming needs! QLED is definitely the way forward as this model finally hits those dark blacks (which you constantly hear praise about OLED TV's) but with no risk of burn-in and much brighter displays, so this really does win one over OLED as it can perform in dark rooms and well lit areas too (due to Samsungs anti-reflective screen coating) It looks gorgeous in both day and night time.
Game Mode is such a welcomed feature, vamping the framerate upto maximum and really making your gameplay pop and look gorgeous (play games like Uncharted 4 or Spider-Man on this bad boy and the detail just oozes outta the screen). The TV also detects your games console and switches to Game Mode automatically, say if you switch from your Bluray player to your PlayStation/Xbox, so you don't have to do it manually.
I will mention the settings with this TV however. Fresh out of the box you will need to tweak around here and there with the settings because the specs are set to basic and you really want to get the optimal picture quality with this TV. I read articles from Rtings and DigitalTrends on optimal settings, but I honestly found their methods lacked in pushing this TV to its full potential. They'll tell you to set the Colour Tone to Warm2 and Picture to Movie setting but I found this adds a yellow-ish tinge to the picture and dampens on brightness. They also added that sharpness be set to '0' but this again is a HUGE mistake (my true opinion) because I watched various 4K movies such as Blade Runner 2049 and Tron Legacy (Upscaled Bluray) and I wasn't initially blown away by the picture but I was impressed. After adding Sharpness settings to full I really unlocked the true 4K capabilities of this TV and could see every single, tiny detail. This finally blew my mind watching true 4K movies after this, but couldn't believe how much detail is lost when you don't optimise the settings correctly and in my opinion, these are my following settings that worked perfectly for 4K movies and games:
4K/HD MOVIES & Streaming:
. Backlight - 50
. Brightness - 0
. Contrast - 50
. Sharpness - 20 (This is a biggie)
. Colour - 30
. Tint G/R - 0
. Digital Clean View - Auto
. Auto Motion Plus:
Blur Reduction - 8
Judder Reduction - 5
. Local Dimming - High
. Contrast Enhancer - Low
. HDR+ Mode - On
. Colour Tone - Standard (Also a biggie)
. Gamma - BT.1886 ('0' setting)
. RGB Only Mode - Off
. Colour Space Settings - Native
Game Mode: (This will automatically optimise certain settings and push your PS4 Pro or Xbox One X to their near full potential. However I still had to tweak around to add more detail to really get that 100% quality.) Settings are same as above but with these changes:
Colour - 25
Contrast Enhancer - Off
Gamma - BT.1886 ('3' setting)
Believe me, I have spent days over these settings and I wouldn't want myself or you to buy a TV without unlocking 100% of it's true capabilities. But you may find certain settings to your own liking.
All in all this TV is a must buy for anyone searching for a true 4K movie or gaming experience (Just remember to vamp those Sharpness settings upto maximum) Happy hunting 👍🏼👍🏼

After nearly 2 weeks it settled down and has much less flicker, I am ok with it.
To counter the flicker there are deblur/dejudder features but on TV/Movie content there are artifacts in the image at times.
I expect they will improve this over time with an update.
I dont need to use them now so I'm not worried.
I use it for TV, as a gaming monitor and for HDR movies.
It excels, amazing image quality.
The colour Gamut is very wide and HDR elements can get extremely bright, superb.
Lag is the lowest I have seen on a TV, better than most PC monitors.
Look up a guide online to set it up.
On RTings.com find the review of the 65" version TV, click the setup link and what you need to know is there.
update 12/04/19
Last years 1153.3 update cured the flickery problem entirely, the dejudder/deblur tools now work properly.
It also almost completely eliminated the few artefacts as well, what are left I only see because I know what to look for, nobody else notices them.
When playing a movie set the output to the same framerate as the movie.
Blu Ray/DVD players will automatically do this but a PC probably wont.
If you see the odd jerk playing a movie on a PC you probably have your display out set to 60Hz.
ie if the movie is 24Hz (or 23.976Hz), set the display output to 24Hz.
I now use HDR+ for all SDR material (TV, movies, games ...) because it gives them a low level of HDR and works really well, it doesnt look fake or imposed. HDR+ is left on permanently except when watching HDR movies/games which look incredible in true HDR.
To get HDR+ working best I set the backlight level to the same as normal SDR viewing (ie not maxed out like the true HDR setup). This makes it highlight brighter things without affecting the rest of the picture much.
My Dad has a well set up Panasonic Plasma TV and always exclaims how good my TV is each time he comes round.
I game at 1440p 120Hz, this TV does it right. Its so smooth with extremely low lag. Its a magical experience with the image quality this TV has.
What a truly wonderful TV!
One niggle - there is no Freeview, so you need Sky, or a set top box for Freeview, or a satellite dish. We have Sky so no problem to us. The TV has only one thin cable, all the others go to a black connection box, that can be hidden away, which simplifies installation no end. This TV is replacing a Panasonic Viera WT series, that is pretty good pictuure, it's Smart engine was having problems and locking up, so we upgraded. The TV is installed in a recess in the wall so connections and such are important, and were easy.
Picture is spectacular. We ran a set up DVD and adjusted the colour balance and light levels - out of the box it is set for American TV as best as we can tell, US TV shows look OK, but everyone looked rather pink on UK shows. It takes about 15 minutes to run through the whole set-up procedure and the colours are now perfect for our eyes.
Smart side is excellent - we chose Samsung because we think they have the best system, much better than Panasonic IMHO. Watching the new Jack Ryan series in 4k UHD streaming from Prime Video really shows the clarity and quality of the picture, big movies look fantastic.
Sound - we coupled it to a Samsung Soundbar - see my other review for the sound.
