Cheap look and feel - i'm using it as a temporary solution to having no case.

On arrival i thought this product was a fake. I've just checked and i did pay for the expensive official version of this case.

I even got onto amazon customer services as i was sure it must be a fake. How could the quality of the box my samsung originally came in be more expensive looking and feel stronger than my new samsung flip case!

After amazon said i could return the product- i didn't bother. I thought it wasn't worth the time and energy of sending it back. I'd already been disapointed enough without dwelling on the issue any longer.

Today however i decided i'd give the case another go- after reading that it was official- and that the front is leather not card! which is what i thought.

I took my orginal back off and put the new case on. There is a small gap where it doesn't fit perfectly, but it's on the inner side of the case so i'm not too fussed.

I do like how small the case it, but i dropped it in the car this morning and it immediately picked up all the grit off the car floor. The case wiped clean off the back, but on the front it is attracting dirt.

The concept is good but the flimsyness is offputting especially as a protective layer for my phone. I've heard of so many people having screens crack.

Although samsung do a beautiful phone- this accessory is a let down. I will use it for the next few weeks until my replacement flip case arrives.

Hopefully i'll have more luck then!

If your looking to buy this- it is fine as a temporary solution, until something else can be ordered.

Other than that i'd look for something of higher quality!

Some of these reviews I've read are pretty disparaging. I've just received my cover and it is EXACTLY as I expected.
A GENUINE Samsung cover. It fits the back of the phone PERFECTLY (unlike many others which crudely clamp the corners, then break after a few months, you know it's true, be honest, how many other covers have you tried before???).

So, if the reviews were so bad, why did I still order one?
Well, I suppose it's about expectation. I expected an uber thin case, which adds almost no size what so ever to my phone, replaces the back cover (so I'm not that bothered if it gets scratched) with an identical back cover (yes, still the same poly-carb the original is made of) and has a thin, yet stiff flap to cover the screen. I didn't want or expect it to lock closed (I wanted thin after all), but I did want it to look superb. It may get dirty (I did order a white phone after all), so be it, it looks "wipe clean" to me, only time will tell.

In comparison to the plethora of bulky, ugly covers out there, this one stood out a mile to me. The Genuine cover fits like no other and as a result fits in my pocket beautifully.
Essentially, so far, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

If I have cause for concern, I'll update this review, but so far, very very happy.

--UPDATE--
Two weeks in and all is good. I had a phone previously which had a vertical flip case, so the horizontal flip has taken a little getting used to, but other than that....no grumbles.
Yes, it is a little dirtier (well I did choose white after-all)...but as a cover, it's still perfect!

So sad to cover this gorgeous phone with something so cheap looking, but it does the job, I guess. Looks like it will protect the front and back of the phone but it makes the slider very stiff to open. I had no trouble lining the cover up with the buttons on the side of the phone like some of the other reviewers. I will keep looking for a better option.

Offers that little bit of comfort towards protecting your phone screen that most people are looking for at almost no extra thickness to your phone.
You replace the original back with a new harder back so that joint adds almost no extra thickness. Gives you the impression that when you get bored of the phone you can replace the original back and the phone will look as good as new. Only a small section of the silver corners are at risk of being damaged.

Negative points
- the flap covers the volume buttons but you can still press the buttons by pressing the cover. Takes some getting used to but not so bad.
- One really annoying point is that the rubber bordering around the front flap started peeling off soon after getting it. After a couple of months it has mostly fallen off with little bits still clinging on which looks really tacky. Ended peeling it all off cause it ended up looking better but then you expose the edge of the inside felt which has started to peel. Only a little but enough to ruin the otherwise perfect case.

Definitely one of the best concepts for a phone cover in terms of functionality and the amount of thickness it adds to the phone.

Good enough but could use many improvements

I have had this case for close to a year and on the whole I like it. It is an effective case for protecting the S3 and looks quite stylish. However it could use a number of improvements and that is why the 3-star rating.

Pros:
- Stylish
- Effective protection for the screen
- Good value for money specially now at around £7 (it was more expensive when I bought it)
- Adds very little thickness to the S3

Cons:
- The matt texture of the front becomes dirty easily and is not easy to clean
- The velvet texture of the inside is good to protect the screen but again not easy to clean once it becomes dirty
- No slots for the indicator lights
- The various layers that makes up the front flap of the case have started coming apart. Build quality could be better.

The way I look at it I will probably use it for a few more months and then simply get a new one.
