The first thing you notice about the phone is that no longer does the Galaxy feel like a cheap bit of plastic :-) and having not ventured near an Android/Samsung device for a while this was a big draw. Once switched on you'll see the incredible screen which puts my iPhone 6 to shame and the camera is equally as impressive with amazing low light pics too. All great, but there is an achilles heel....battery life. At 100% at 7am, sending a few txt, ready a few email, listening to Spotify on the train, but 10 am its down to 70% and by 5pm its below 20% after a few calls. My iPhone 6 lasted a full day always but the S6 struggles to get to 7pm, which for a £500 premium phone isn't good enough in my view. Yes it has quick charge, but what use is that when you're out and about and want a phone with power!!!! So, in summary, great build quality, smooth and improved Samsung UI, awesome screen, amazing pics, let down badly by the battery!! :-(

UPDATED 20th July - So now that Android 5.1.1 is available on the S6 the battery life is much improved, in fact so much so that it easily makes a full day :-) and the camera is still AMAZING.....so 5 stars it is :-)

Amazing phone! I "owned" various IPhones over the years and finally made the decision to switch over to Samsung.
I thought the switch would be hard but it was seamless. I finally feel that I own my own phone vs that feeling that I just "rented" a device from Apple.
Finally I can upload my own custom ringtone, use my phone as external storage, copy movies to my phone and best of all: I could finally get rid of horrendous ITunes. Get your freedom back -> GO SAMSUNG!

Having owned and used various smartphones in the past, I have nothing else to say else that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is one hell of an brilliant smartphone and I am very happy I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy S6 and have no regrets so far.

With my previous daily driver smartphone (an orginal HTC One Mini M4) showing wear over time and getting tired, along with me looking for an upgraded phone with faster performance, a better camera and more features, I looked into and tried different flagship smartphones. One of the first smartphones I looked into were the chinese market of phones (i.e. Xiomi Redmi Note 3, OnePlus 2, etc.) which look good according to specs and reviews in the price range they were in, however after looking at camera samples for those types of smartphones, I decided that no chinese smartphone or phablet would suit my needs in that departments. After that I researched and took the plunge for a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, which I in the end returned due to an uneven camera focus issue that is common for that particular line up of smartphone from Sony. After this, I took the plunge for the Samsung Galaxy S6 (once again, with further research)!

Just before I purchased the S6, I took a look at the S7 to see if it worth paying the different from the S6 price. To me, it looks like the S7 has a slightly better camera (only by a smidgen under low light conditions), slightly better performance, waterproofing (I do not use my phone in the rain or take phones into the shower) and a Micro SD slot (which would of been a nice addition for the S6, however 32GB of storage is sufficient for my uses). Taking the slight improvements into account for the S7, I decided it wasn't worth paying the £200+ extra, so I stuck with the S6.

One week on from receiving my brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 32GB and I am loving life! It is a remarkable piece of kit and I am very happy with it. I am enjoying finding out just what the S6 is capable of and discovering its many useful attributes such as the 'Do Not Disturb' feature and I like the fingerprint security option too. The battery life is OK, I tend to go 24hrs between charges and I did set the 'Power Saving Mode' on as soon as I could. The phone will charge up very quickly, 10% battery to 100% in under 1 hour using the plug included. I love the AMOLED 5.1" screen, it is bright and vibrant The upgrade via O2 was painless. Setting up the phone was easy, the first option after switching on was to confirm UK usage and the rest was intuitively driven by the phone's set up features. There were a number of apps to discard or disable as they are not useful to me or are just money makers for Samsung or third parties. I'll be carefully monitoring the 32GB storage as it cannot be expanded. I have yet to give the camera a good run out but from a first-look perspective its features seem to be a class act. I believe this Samsung handset to be the best on the market today and I recommend it above ALL others including IPhone!

Have owned this phone since its release day so have spent some quality time with the phone.

Build: Finally a flagship build that was long overdue. The glass and metal combination is very smooth to the touch but does make the phone more slippery in hand. No doubt this is miles better than the previous plastic builds and the colour options for the phone are all unique with a nice effect on the back glass. The overall build is solid. Just be careful as it is mostly glass.

Display: 2K Quad HD Super Amoled. In other words one of the best displays on the market. Saturated colours, very bright outdoors and deep blacks and with a variety of display modes to suit your liking.

Performance: For the most part brilliant. No lag as past Samsung phones have had with age. Interface is quick and speedy with nice subtle animations, nothing overboard and flys through most day to day tasks. The fingerprint scanner is also improved working similar to that of the iPhone in which you just hold the button and enter the desktop. It's not 100% accurate and from time to time I do have to try again to get it to work. But for the most part it's a huge improvement from the swipe method the S5 used.

The only issue I have is with its ram management, which from what I've read is a common problem. With the 3GB ram provided I only find myself with 0.5GB free ! So yes it can multitask but not very well with most apps refreshing when loaded back up.

Battery: Far from great. With heavy usage I find myself needing to recharge the phone come the early evening with about 3 hours on screen time. On light usage I find it can just about get through the day. Yes it charges quickly but would have been nice to have a bigger battery.

Camera: Brilliant.
