From the manufacturer
Better Design and Technology
Carefully crafted from metal and glass, the Galaxy S6 also provides a solid grip. The glass body - made from Corning Gorilla Glass 4 - is available in an array of colourful jewel tones which elicit a visual texture as it reflects natural light. This design required enhanced glass crafting technology and more quality control, setting the Galaxy S6 apart from every other mobile device on the market. The premium device aesthetics deliver better value and are complemented by a lighter interface that highly enhances usability and functionality. A refined and fully optimised user experience simplifies applications and offers features and settings in a more intuitive way.
A Better Crafted
With a slim, seamless, full metal and glass construction, the sleek, ultra-thin edged Galaxy S6 is crafted from one of the finest materials.
And while it may be the thinnest smartphone Samsung have created, when it comes to cutting-edge technology and flagship Galaxy experience, this 5.1 inch QHD Super AMOLED smartphone is certainly no lightweight.
When you're on the go and short on time, fear not - the Galaxy S6 features the ability to fast charge your battery - letting you watch 2 hours of HD video from just 10 minutes charging.
And with built-in wireless charging capabilities, the Galaxy S6 offers you all the convenience of charging without the need to plug in, ensuring you’re always powered and ready for what's next. (wireless charging pad sold separately).
A Better Camera
Whether you're into capturing selfies or sunsets, the 5 MP front camera and 16 MP rear camera are ready when you are.
With a launch time of just 0.7 seconds, you can capture more of your favourite moments, as they happen. And thanks to its optical image stabilisation, fast tracking auto focus and bigger, f1.9 aperture for better low light results.
A Crisper Display
Protected by the very latest Gorilla Glass, the 5.1 inch QHD Super AMOLED display, with real RGB colour, delivers images and film so life-like, your only problem will be what to enjoy next.

UPDATED 20th July - So now that Android 5.1.1 is available on the S6 the battery life is much improved, in fact so much so that it easily makes a full day :-) and the camera is still AMAZING.....so 5 stars it is :-)
With my previous daily driver smartphone (an orginal HTC One Mini M4) showing wear over time and getting tired, along with me looking for an upgraded phone with faster performance, a better camera and more features, I looked into and tried different flagship smartphones. One of the first smartphones I looked into were the chinese market of phones (i.e. Xiomi Redmi Note 3, OnePlus 2, etc.) which look good according to specs and reviews in the price range they were in, however after looking at camera samples for those types of smartphones, I decided that no chinese smartphone or phablet would suit my needs in that departments. After that I researched and took the plunge for a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, which I in the end returned due to an uneven camera focus issue that is common for that particular line up of smartphone from Sony. After this, I took the plunge for the Samsung Galaxy S6 (once again, with further research)!
Just before I purchased the S6, I took a look at the S7 to see if it worth paying the different from the S6 price. To me, it looks like the S7 has a slightly better camera (only by a smidgen under low light conditions), slightly better performance, waterproofing (I do not use my phone in the rain or take phones into the shower) and a Micro SD slot (which would of been a nice addition for the S6, however 32GB of storage is sufficient for my uses). Taking the slight improvements into account for the S7, I decided it wasn't worth paying the £200+ extra, so I stuck with the S6.Read more ›
I thought the switch would be hard but it was seamless. I finally feel that I own my own phone vs that feeling that I just "rented" a device from Apple.
Finally I can upload my own custom ringtone, use my phone as external storage, copy movies to my phone and best of all: I could finally get rid of horrendous ITunes. Get your freedom back -> GO SAMSUNG!

It's easy (if long winded if you opt to use the fingerprint scanner) to setup, and once connected to WiFi it updated to Android 6.0.1.
If you do take the the time to setup the fingerprint scanner you’ll benefit from fast unlocking without the need to enter a pin or screen code, just pickup the phone, pop your thumb on the sensor and it unlocks.
Unlike the previous plastic S5 the S6 feels like a premium handset with a lovely design. The only thing that might bug you is the camera around the back, which sticks out a little bit from the back of the body.
Interestingly next to the rear camera is not only a flash, but a small health sensor for measuring things like your heart rate.
Samsung have kept the S6 relatively bloatware free, things like the health sensor make use of the included S Health app and the apps pre installed all seem like they might be useful.
Unfortunately there isn’t the option to add a microSD card, however this is somewhat mitigated by being given 100GB of OneDrive storage space free for 2 years.
The camera on this is brilliant, shots are lovely and clear, the autofocusing works well, you can pull focus to certain spots, good depth of field, you really won’t need a dedicated camera if you have this in your pocket!
The S6 also impresses when playing games. The screen looks gorgeous and it’s big enough to allow the use of onscreen controls without your hands getting in the way of the action.
Worth noting the speakers are located on the bottom of the handset so if you are a gamer that plays a lot of landscape games you might find your hand covering the speaker and muffling the sound a little.
It might not be the newest Samsung phone, but it still has a lot to offer, it’s easy to see why Samsung are doing so well in mobiles.

I've had this phone less than 2 months. It's not been dropped or damaged in any way. However, the back key is stuck on and so I now can't use it at all. Read morePublished 3 days ago by Kindle Customer
