The Samsung E2121B is a great little phone with tons of basic features and an extra-long battery life, and is easy to use and looks great. This small, lightweight, ruggedly built mobile will give you up to 10 hours of non-stop talk time from one full charge; so you can stay connected to contacts throughout the whole working day. The E2121B has a handy built in camera and video recorder, so you can snap quick photos and make mini movies whenever a special moment crops up. When you've taken a great picture you can send it straight from your phone to a friend or family member, via either MMS or Bluetooth.
Internet users can hop online via GPRS or EDGE and send emails or visit mobile websites. There's no 3G or WiFi, but if you just need to check your local cinema listings or download the occasional game or ringtone then this will suit you fine.
You can increase the memory of the E2121B by up to 2Gb with the use of a microSD memory card, so you can be sure that there's plenty of storage available for all of your favourite music or photos. There's also a built in music player for listening to your tunes, and an FM radio for those who prefer listening to live shows.

Top customer reviews
There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
There are, however, a few minor niggles that slightly (and I emphasize SLIGHTLY) mar what is otherwise a fantastic bargain mobile phone.
1) You can only select MP3 files for use as ringtones that are located in the E2121's INTERNAL memory (yes, all 7mB of it!!) and to make matters worse, you can only access the phone's internal memory with the bloated (165mB download alone) Samsung software.
It's a mystery to me why Samsung didn't allow access to the internal memory as it does to the Micro-SD card memory i.e. in MSC mode where it appears to a Windows PC simply as a removable drive like say a USB memory stick. This would mean you can simply drag & drop MP3 ringtones direct onto the internal memory. No, you have to switch to "Samsung" USB mode on the phone, reconnect the phone to your USB port, fire up the Samsung software and copy ringtones to the Music folder of the phone's internal memory. THEN you can select your favourite song as a ringtone.
Secondly, (and this gave me many hours of frustration) you MUST fill in the ID3 tag details (song title, artist, genre etc.) of any MP3 file you copy to the E2121's internal memory. If you don't, the Samsung software simply hangs at the start of the copy process. There's no mention of the need to fill out the ID3 tags anywhere in the instructions or in the Samsung software.
Third, the USB interface is only v1.1 which is very slow compared to USB2.0 which means data takes ages to copy across.
Fourth, no 3.5mm audio out jack socket. A minor niggle, but if like me you would like to use some decent quality headphones, you'll need to buy an audio adapter cable which has a 3.5mm stereo jack socket on if you want to use any other head/earphones than the naff ones that come with the phone. Also be aware that the earphones that come with the phone are essential if you want to listen to the FM radio, as they provide an aerial for it. If you use a 3.5mm audio adapter cable, it doesn't provide the aerial function.
The built-in MP3 player, whilst lacking a graphic equalizer or any tone controls, gives quite good quality sound through decent headphones.
A friend of mine says the screen is too small for him, but I've got no problem with it.
There has been a lot of thought gone into the "use-ability" of the phone: for instance, you can switch the phone to silent ringing (i.e. to vibration only) by holding down just one key. Neat! And menu design & navigation is intuitive and almost a breeze!
The E2121 also has a "fake call" facility where, if you hold down a specific key while the phone is say in your pocket, it will ring and if you set a voice message, will actually play this message as though you were actually receiving a call. Great for getting out of unwanted meetings/conversations etc!! Be aware that some service providers may charge a standard call charge for this.
Overall, a great value phone with incredible battery life that's easy to use. I'd buy it again!
Absolute rubbish... the less said the better, so I immediately opted to go straight back to the E2121 without question.
It comes to work with me where it gets covered in saw dust, paint, plaster and all sorts, no problem, just give it a gentle scrub at home and its as good as new.
I dropped my new one into water when I first had it, stupid me... it played up for a day, but when fully dried out back to perfect as if nothing had happened.
The radio is great, I charge mine up in the evening and then I play the radio on loudspeaker the next day its that loud.
Definitely buy this if you want a tough no nonsense phone with the benefit of a loud radio..
My overall pros and cons listed here
+ Build is pefectly ok for a budget phone decent enough plastics this can take a tumble and last
+ Keypad is fine for me, it's a single moulded affair but works well enough
+ Screen is improved over previous budget Samsung mobiles a little bigger, resolution is stil fairly low but with better contrast easier to read in various lighting. Older models I found a bit "washed out" this is better esp in that regard
+ Takes micro SD cards so you can listen to music (seems to be MP3 format only)up to 2Gb which is plenty for most people
+ FM radio whilst not a big deal to some, this is more useful than most. Does not require you to connect headphones either. Very handy to have a radio on your phone. There is no RDS or anything snazzy like that, but you can store presets and the reception is good.
+ Loud! You won't have any problems hearing this at rush hour
+ Overall has enough features to satisfy most people who don't need tasty cameras, video and lots of internet use. Currency/weight converters, stop watch/timers simple things but some of them are useful enough
+ Huge battery life. Lost your charger for 2 weeks? Well if you are not making loads of calls this phone has staggeringly good battery life almost up to epic proportions. Really it's that good, travel around a bit and want a phone that has big battery endurance and you won't cry if it gets lost of squased..you have found it!
+ Sound quality fine, no problems to report I can hear people ok and clearly, they can with me
+ Bang per buck..a hard phone to fault, whilst basic it's a bit more meaty than previous super budget phones (camera/radio/music player etc) and that is enough for me in many cases. Angry dog down the road grabs your phone and eats it? Well you're going to be a lot less upset with this outlay v you smart phone/iphone meeting a grim death!
+ Bluetooth, important addition esp for headsets/driving etc. I could not get mine to work with music/radio..but it worked for calls. Maybe that's how it is designed.
- No 3.5mm jack. Supplied headphones are ok but basic and not really that great (are we shocked at this price though?) Samsung use their own one fits all charger and headphone socket in one..so unless you can find an attachment with a samsung connector to 3.5 mm jack you're stuck with these. I have one from my G600 phone so I can use other headsets
- Basic camera/video. Might pass for a quick MMS test but don't get too excited just a basic VGA camera. I suppose the expression "better than nothing" applies. Just take it for what it is..a very simple affair. Makers have been reserving decent cameras for higher priced handsets, my advice is to just bring a compact along..it will thump most phones for quality
- Keypad lock seems to engage a bit quickly for my own tastes, but you can disable this in the menus
Hard to complain for this price, the addition of the camera/radio/music player and a few other bits drag this up from a super basic phone, to a more appealing but still not overly basic one. The radio/music player are important additions for many folks, and despite the lack of a 3.5mm jack this is just a phone that does it's intended job pretty well, with a few extras that were missing on previous ultra cheap handsets. It's a phone you actually like quite a bit more than you think, despite the basic display etc.
