|LED Display Technology: LED (light-emitting diode) TVs are actually a type of LCD TV. LCD HDTVs use standard compact fluorescent tubes to illuminate the picture. LED HDTVs, on the other hand, replace those fluorescent tubes with backlighting technology. LED TVs might therefore say "LCD display" on the packaging--this is perfectly normal. Thanks to a powerful Quad Core processor, your Samsung Smart TV offers enhanced performance. You'll notice the difference straight away, with faster multitasking and switching between content and web browsing, as well as smoother interaction. With this extra power, your entertainment experience will be so much more enjoyable, with less waiting and more viewing. Samsung's segmented dimming technology lets you enjoy viewing with deeper black and purer white shades, making everything you see more vivid and dramatic. It's all thanks to sophisticated contrast enhancement that gets the most from your TV and lets you enjoy all your entertainment at its best. Samsung's Micro Dimming gives you images more defined than ever. Using your TV is more intuitive with the Samsung Smart Control. Using the touchpad you can flip between Smart Hub panels and scroll down webpages, and by pointing the remote, you can utilize Motion Control to move the on-screen cursor to navigate and enter text easily. Useful video control keys also help you watch movies, TV and other content you've downloaded or streamed on demand. Thanks to Samsung's advanced Clear Motion Rate (CMR) technology, even fast moving scenes are delivered with clarity. A higher CMR means clearer viewing and less motion blur, so you can enjoy action films, sports and other entertainment at their very best.

Light, so could be wall mounted fairly easily, although we didn't do this
Brilliant picture quality. The HD channels which come with this are unbelieably good.
3D - you can convert any program, DVD or even Xbox game to 3D. However, as this is simply being converted to 3D, it isn't that impressive after about 10 minutes, and I often simply switch back to normal mode. I'm assuming Blu Ray 3D is better, as it's a "true" 3D - however, we haven't properly tested this out yet.
Voice Control is quite handy (especially for switching on 3D)
Smart Remote is great (similat to a Wii controller)
Can set reminders on programs, similar to Sky.
Wifi set up was really simple.
Loads of built in apps, which run off internet (e.g. Netflix, Youtube, Catchup, On Demand).
Football mode is great. Alters TV settings to account for the pitch colour etc. Also raises sound to enchance the crowd and commentary. I never switch this off to be honest.
Sound quality is good overall. I've read some other reviews which state that they've had to buy a SoundBar. However, we find the built in speakers do an excellent job. If we wanted to go the cinema and be deafened, then we'd do so!
The HD channels have a slight delay between the audio and visual. Once you notice it, it will drive you mad. But this can be altered in the sound settings (simply find Audio > Additional Settings > then reduce or increase the Audio Delay as necessary).
Takes a while to figure out how to turn 3D on. Found that the quickest way was to use the voice control "turn 3D on/off".
Comes with 2 x remotes. One old school one, and one Smart one. No idea what the old school one is for, as the Smart one seems to do everything we need it to.
No inbuilt HDD, so the recording feature is useless unless you buy and install an external HDD - not sure if we'll bother to do this.
The stand/legs cover a wide space, so make sure you have a big enough tv unit. Ours is quite narrow, so there isn't any room to rotate the TV as the legs would fall off the sides of the unit.
Overall, very impressed with the TV. Quick and easy set up and would definitely recommend.
to configure the tv properly and get optimal performance head over to the AV forums and there you will find settings to enter into the tv, usually people would charge for this service but they provide settings for your tv for free, so give it a go if you want the best picture for your tv.
you get 1 pair of 3D glasses, a wiimote type remote and a normal remote to control your tv with, there is a printed manual but there is also a e-manual built into the tv aswell.
3D is impressive, it's like the nintendo 3DS but on a larger screen, there isn't a lot of content to try the 3D effect on though, i've yet to try it with a movie, but be sure to put the 3D effect right up because the picture won't pop out like it should otherwise.
tv can swivel from it's base which i was surprised by that, very handy to get to the back of the tv easily.
so overall i'm happy with the tv if anything else comes up i will update the review.
The image quality, motion smoothness, all is superb, the audio is acceptable for a flat screen but needs external speakers.
Unfortunately after 3 months, there are large black areas which form on the display, where the LED panel appears to be failing horribly. We spent most of the year of 2015 not noticing wondering why the TV was so black when we saw a white background and all the black on the image.
Contacted Amazon who told us to contact Samsung, this was November 2015.
They sent an engineer out who replaced the LED panel, after a month the screen burn returned on this brand new panel but we are now out of the warranty and Samsung will not help.
All in all it is a great screen but the LED panels are really poor quality. Photos attached.
I know it is subjective, depends on room and lighting and takes your eyes a while to adjust, but, for anyone interested I will give you my picture settings which personally give me what I consider to be a superb picture.

I bought from a competing store, where it was priced as low as the next set down (H5500) and came with longer warranty, but if I was to buy again I would probably happily pay the extra £100 or so for the better sound, frame and features.
