The lightest suitcase from Samsonite's Curv collection, Lite-Shock combines minimal weight with maximum impact resistance. This hard shell suitcase's self-reinforced organic design and ultra-light, high comfort components result in an extra lightweight luggage collection, setting a new standard. Lite-Shock remains strong without the need for a thick outer shell thanks to the shock absorbing nature of the design.

The TSA lock broke when it was opened by an airline/baggage handler. In Samsonite's defence this might have not been their fault and they did replace it for me free of charge (but it's hardly robust).
Now the lining has come away from the case in several places and although Samsonite have offered to repair it (or replace it if they deem it unrepairable) it is up to the customer to either take it to their service centre or pay £14 carriage fee for collection and it will take 2-3 weeks. Hardly convenient in terms of time spent getting it there let alone the costs there and back.
I had a Samsonite case for 15 years which was sturdy and utterly reliable so I am not sure if I have just been unlucky with this one. I bought it because of the previous one's great service and because it was lighter and easier to manoevre with the 4 wheels.
Unfortunately the lock mechanism is quite weak and has broken after around 20 flights and the rubber surround that covers the zip tote away from the case after just 8 flights.
The long warranty (10 years I think) is worthless as the repair centre decided that both of these breakages were "physical damage" and therefore not covered. I can appreciate this concept when it comes to delicate items or electronics, but surely a suitcase should be designed to withstand the abuse that it is subjected to by baggage handlers. This is it's only job after all. I'd expect more from luggage at this price.
The small cabin baggage size is perfect as you look after it yourself, but don't expect to get anywhere near 10 years of use from the checked in luggage sizes unless you don't travel much.
Then one day, packing up to return from the US, the handle jammed. It would go all the way in, but not pull out. The mechanism had broken, given up. It was no longer possible for me to trundle my suitcase in any easy way, and sadly I realised that it was time for it to retire. He's not been dumped, just relegated to the loft as storage.
So this lite-shock is the replacement. It's been to the US, Belgium and Dubai so far. Just as good as the old one - but with one massive improvement: Silent wheels!
Unfortunately after only a year with several air travels the case is already looking rather old and battered and nothing like the lovely new case I'd bought only a year ago at quite a price I might add. The main problem is that the outer finish to the case scratches and scuffs very easily and given the way cases are thrown about in air travel they're constantly being dragged across surfaces and scratched.
I must say I'm very disappointed at how the case has fared in only a year and am almost embarrassed to take it to nice hotels which is one of the main reasons for the upgrade in the first instance, and my old case looks far better after many years of travel.
I would have expected much more from a Samsonite product. Disappointed, especially given the price. Still trying to find out how I can get a refund or exchange.
Recommendation: don't buy!
