Read other Connie Mason books&really liked them found they had strong characters&lots of passion which I like in historical romances, this book started off really well liked Sam from the beginning but found after about 10 or 12 chapters the characters were repeating the same lines at least once in every chapter&the plot started to go round&round in circles, thought at one stage I was nearly finished the book because I read what I thought was the big build up to the grand finale but instead I was less than half way through the book then the story just went on&on with more of the same repeating some might consider these plot twists but to me it felt more like the writer was just dragging out the story trying to fill the pages in the end i just wanted to get the book read&done with..maybe this was an early book by the writer maybe thats why the writing was weak because found the other books I read by this author much better so even though this book was disappointing it wouldn't put me off reading other books by Connie Mason because I know she done better stories than this.

I wasn't impressed with this, i mean after reading Rafe, me and my sister couldn't wait to read the rest and then we saw Sam but couldn't find Jess, so we got down to do some reading.

He finds out he's working for the girl that supposedly dumps him even before he and his brothers were accused of stealing and then along the way he finds a secret about his past that the girl has kept to herself for a long time now.......and then its the usual adventure that Ms.Mason tries to create in all her books.......

Sam's story is just so plain and I mean there was no rythmn to it,
I was disappointed, I just hope Jess isnt just as bad though cos I'm still gonna read it, hope that goes well but you read it and judge for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Connie Mason knows how to write can't-put-it-down stories! 14 Jan. 2014

I have read a lot of Connie Mason books and the reason I continue to read them is because she makes the hero and heroine believable. Just when you think you know where the story is leading, she puts in a couple of twists, which keeps up the suspense.

I actually read the Outlaw series out of order and loved the story about Jess so much I just had to read the other two. I love to read westerns, but Connie Mason can write about medieval times just as well.

I have favorite authors that I try to read all of their books and Connie Mason is one of those. Others include Johanna Lindsey, Hannah Howell, Amanda Quick and Kat Martin.
5.0 out of 5 stars THe Outlaws: Sam 15 Aug. 2012

A great read because it culminates the series that starts Rafe the eldest brother, Jess the middle brother and Sam the youngest. The condition of Sam was perfect as the others. Rafe was the hardes to find. I waited to get Rafe before I started reading the series. I am glad I did that. Each of these very confirmed bachelors are a hoot when they realize that a female has intruded upon their very male minds. At the end of SAM, we learn how they all have a family reunion bring all their wives and children. Unexpected families. It's a very enjoyable series read in sequence. I had good vendors for these books.
3.0 out of 5 stars story's fine but... 23 May 2014

There are way too many typos, grammatical and factual errors. Did anyone proof the book? Very distracting. It's hard to stay focused on the story when you are trying to figure out what it is supposed to say. And if you are going to write an epilogue involving characters from another book, get the facts straight. Don't rewrite history. One brother moved territories and the other's silver mine became a gold mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Outlaws Sam 26 Nov. 2014

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO HISTORICAL ROMANCE READERS WHO LIKE SPICEY NOVELS. GOOD BOOK, READ THE TRILOGY WHICH WERE ALL GOOD BOOKS. LIKED HOW THE ENDING ON THE THIRD BOOK, SAM WAS ALL BROUGHT TOGETHER. THE ONE PART OF SAM' BOOK I DID NOT CARE FOR WAS I WOULD NOT BE THINKING OF ROMANCE WHEN MY LITTLE BOY IS MISSING.
