You have to wonder how all those men on board didn't see that this boy was actually a girl in disguise, but it's a cute idea and a light kind of read. It goes fast, takes place over a year, and I would have loved more depth there, seeing more day-to-day interaction with the Captain and the crew. But there is some action and danger for the heroine, the sex is steamy, no hard sex words that I can remember, and there's a short epilogue to convince of love and HEA. I'd love the author to expand this. A lot of potential here to make a fuller story/romance. Hope she publishes more, maybe some longer stories in future. There's an easy, comfortable way about her writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good read and a little bit different in some ways. 30 May 2016

I loved it! While the sex was explicit, it came at the right time in the story and was not gratuitous. I cared about the characters. I gave a darn. Okay, a bit predictable, but what to say when the heroine is a young girl disguised as a boy and the captain is an honorable man who is having sexual feelings for a young "boy." It was well written. There could be more in the series, but not necessarily so. The linguist connection could be developed more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting, funny, and sexy 18 Jan. 2014

"Salvation" follows Samantha Simmons as she struggles to escape a life as homeless and hunted by thugs. She dresses up as a boy and gets herself a job as translator on a spaceship. Getting off the planet seems like a great idea. Unfortunately, her new employer Captain Morse is both handsome and kind, and he takes his job as protector for young "Simmons" seriously. As much as Samantha struggles to stay in character, surviving harrowing adventures as a boy becomes more and more difficult as she falls in love.

I enjoyed Salvation. The story is exciting, funny, sexy, and short enough for me to have time to read the whole thing. I definitely recommend it. I hope to see more stories with the same characters in the future - I would love to follow their adventures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heroine disguised as boy story 24 Jan. 2014

Samantha disguises herself as a boy and becomes the Captain's surrogate little brother-- so the disguise that keeps her safe also becomes her prison as she falls in love with him.

I really enoyed this book, set in a space opera universe reminiscent of Star Trek. I particularly love romances that are between admirable, decent people--for me that makes the happy ending even more believable. While this is a novella I had no sense of being rushed or of loose ends, it was a complete, satisfying read. Looking forward to more from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Quick, Enjoyable Read! 29 Nov. 2015

I don’t know exactly what I expected when I downloaded this, (maybe a super filthy story filled with nothing but sex). But whatever it was, I was pleasantly surprised to read this sweet, well-developed, romance. Yes, the heat is definitely there, but there was also an interesting story and characters who kept me reading. I highly recommend it!
