The quality of construction is **** poor and I'm surprised at Salter putting their name on such a tatty product. However, what could I expect for £10? In my opinion the guarantee is pointless as most people won't keep their receipt or be bothered for the low cost. Better to spend more for a good quality scale that should last a long time, and save yourself the hassle.
We have experienced the same problems as others, the scales simply stopped working and no amount of battery resetting etc. has made any difference.
We will throw these out and write off the money spent.
My previous 10 year old cheap sprung mechanical scales went to the charity shop..... I wonder if they've still got them?
