5.0 out of 5 stars I've been got and this book got me! 15 Aug. 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This author and this book accomplished the near impossible. I have read exactly two fiction books in the last 30 years, perhaps 40 years. This book is #3. I only read history, biography and some science. A friend said I should read this thing. For some reason I decided to give it a try. I was (am) currently reading a biography of Andrew Mellon. I'll be damned, I started reading Salt Creek Justice and forgot about Mr. Mellon until after I had finished this book. That's how good this bloody book is!
This Valentine guy knows his stuff; deep water sea boating, geography, deep-sea fishing, etc. The plot grabs the reader and continues to build interest and drama. A couple of chicks enter the plot and add what only a woman can add to anything. (A little spice never hurts) and then the Mafia turns up! Big bucks, good looking women, some thugs, dead bodies (one of which is disposed of in an aquarium's shark tank) and who is going to get whom? That's why one keeps reading until the end. Now, my wife, who devours whodunits is wrapped up in the book. This is a good one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instincts and Intrigue Fuel this Romp for Survival 27 Aug. 2013
By david degroot - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
It doesn't take long to get hooked on this story about one brother who is forced to out-maneuver the Tampa Mob to stay alive while the other brother's keen instincts and sharp eye draws him into the fight for survival. The author craftily weaves together this story with plenty of visuals and points of interest from Tampa to St. Petersburg to way-point after way-point in this fast-moving flight to safety through the Caribbean and the Panama Canal to Costa Rica for one brother, while detailing the fishing and boating prowess of the other brother as he skillfully leads a crew of his buddies in a major fishing tournament set in the beautiful waters around Key West, Florida. Also enjoy the lusty, sensual encounters kicked-up by the warm waters and rolling waves in this tale, and let that inner-pirate in you take the helm for a while as you plow through this adventure. Pour yourself a vino tinto and enjoy this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars ... find that"Salt Creek Justice" is not only a damn good story it is geographically accurate 14 Aug. 2014

Having lived in Southwest Florida for over 40 years and having sailed to or from most places mentioned in this book I find that"Salt Creek Justice" is not only a damn good story it is geographically accurate. In fact it's one of the best stories I've read . William Valentine knows how to tell a great action and mystery Tale. Can't wait to read the sequel and am hoping Beau goes to Panama. I recommend this book to all who like adventure, action , fishing and adventure in sunny and dangerous places.

5.0 out of 5 stars Salt Creek Justice Rocks! 15 Sept. 2013
By maxafton - Published on Amazon.com

I grew up around the water (Va Beach, VA) and I read a lot of crime novels. Mr. Valentine is apparently an accomplished boatman and fisherman as well as storyteller. In Salt Creek Justice he "set the hook" and reeled me in. He paints the picture of sport fishing and big water boating and wraps it around a very plausible story of crime and intrigue. This book is a real page turner and enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A novel for the True Florida sportsman in all of us! 2 Sept. 2013
By chris - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
What a great novel that weaves a great story between two brothers that you feel like you have known all your life. Filled with murder, deceit, mafia, and of course a world class marlin tournament. A very well written and fun story that will keep you on the edge wondering what the next move will be, at times you will feel as if the author written parts of the story about your own experiences growing up on the salt. I recommend this to anyone who is a sportsman at heart!
