Just to clarify, light a/c are flown with rudder because the low momentum and short arm moment rudder give good responses. On heavies rudder isn't used because of sweep, oscillatory stability and cause it shakes the plane.
They give you Velcro to help keep them from sliding when you are using them and it works just great. You can also adjust the tension of the pedals to give a more realistic feel when steering the plane when taxiing. I have seen other pedals in other places and they are poor imitations of these pedals. I think they are just fantastic and I would never go back to button rudder control on a Joystick. Hope this helps you to decide.
These rudder pedals are well constructed, heaver than expected and came in a very large box.
In use, it is more or less plug and play and the single CD of drivers allows you to load the driver software. Optionally it is possible to load the tools to create custom controls in other applications. The built-in USB cable isn't that long, but this can be extended via third party cables if required. Feedback is positive and the level of force required to turn can be easily adjusted. Each foot pedal has a "pitch forward" capability, presumably for motor-vehicle gaming. It was not possible to find a way to lock-off this pitch movement.
The only minor niggle is the small amount of play in the centre position. At its most sensitive level, this will turn a simulated glider or similar high performance aircraft. However this is minor and may not be important in casual use.
The customised control software has not been used so is not reviewed here.
A good product (albeit not cheap), so overall a four out of five only because it was not possible to lock-off the "foot pitch" movement.
Sturdy construction is impressive, good quality plastics, solid fixing to keep them solidly mounted with long velcro strips and/or screws.
The toe brakes are excellent and accurate, the rudders however are not positive enough, even in stockined feet, whatever the tension setting, it is easy to leave a degree of rudder applied, causing problems with accuracy and speed. The centreing return spring is too weak and the centre feel is ambiguous.
As a gamer who doesn't have a large enough room to leave equipment setup permanently these pedals have 1 flaw - they lack any proper floor grips. I have attached one half of the supplied velcro strips and they do offer some friction on my carpet, but as I'm not willing to stick the other half of the velcro to my carpet I have had to attach the extensions that form the foot rests to the other ends of the pedal base (reverse of what is pictured) so that the pedals push up against my TV stand and still leave room for them to move properly.
The pedals base does have holes to put screws through, to secure to a floor (or perhaps some other heavy base object) but that's of no use to someone such as myself who can't leave equipment setup permanently.
There was a Pro version with metal pedals, but they were a little more expensive, but didn't really have many additional features.
Needless to say that this has been an excellent choice. He was like a kid on Xmas day, lol. Since then I've seen him spending hours playing his flight sims, and he has even gone and bought a head-tracker to finish off his setup now.
No issues at all apart from the initial wrapping of the present, but I think that's more of a bloke thing.

Awesome, work very well with my flight games (DCS World / FSX) and having the rudder and brakes makes controlling the aircraft on the ground so much easier.Published 7 months ago by David Mansfield
Studying for a PPL. Although never quite like a real plane these do add to the realism of FSX. It feels "right" to have your feet on toe brakes when practising power... Read morePublished 8 months ago by Chris
