Story line: Its mad, funny, random and action packed. Instead of going to someone to do missions they are now all on your phone so you can just call them and it will start the mission this saves a bit of driving about like before. But one thing I was unhappy with is the story line is way to short I believe its much shorter than Saints Row 2 however still enjoyed it.
Improved graphics and details.
More weapons to use.
Still able to create your character.
Mod any car you want.
Missions unlock lots of cool weapons and cars etc.
Action packed story.
Lots of side missions to do.
Game loads up really quick and hardly no loading screens.
Clothes shops don't have as much as the last game.
Can't modify your cribs anymore.
Can't change controls.
Flying helicopters is really hard to do.
It's a great action packed fun game with loads to do. It has improved in some areas but at the same time has lost track of other stuff. The short story line is what really is stopping me from giving it the full 5/5. I would say if you liked the last game and if this is your first time playing it prepare for some fun.
The game shines most when played with two players. Running around the map dressed as bears or dominatrixs (dominatrixii? dominatrices?) is great fun. To start with the missions and side missions offer a varied diet of gameplay from straight shooting to more driver based tasks. However, after a few hours everything seems far too similar. If you really want to complete the game 100% you will have to finish all the side missions and defeat all the gangs - this can be incredibly tedious, especially if you fail some of them and have to repeat the entire thing. There is also an issue with the game hanging, especially in co-op. The coding was not solid enough to prevent one or other of the players being kicked quite regularly.
Where the game is improved over the first two is the story. There is a strong chauvinistic streak that runs through the game, but it is far tamer and acceptable than before. I was not so embarrassed that I could not play it in front of my partner like previously. Graphically the game is no oil painting, but is decent enough to handle two players and look ok. The city of Steelport is well realised, it is really only the lack of diversity in mission that fails the game. Hopefully, a 4th game will combine the sheer joy of originality found in the 2nd game with the improved story and slight maturity of the third game. Until this happened `Saints Row: The Third' remains an entertaining curio, but not a real competitor for the crown of best sandbox game.
Its a fun game on its own. The missions a ridiculous. The characters are stupid and the writing doesn't seam to be so much slapstick as it seams to be toilet-humor aimed not at 18+ year olds, but rather 14- year olds who tricked their parents into getting them the game.
The game offers up allot of minigames in addition to do, but mostly its recycled from the SR2. Sadly many of the really funny minigames are left out from saints row 2.
The graphics have improved. Sadly the physics have not. If you really liked SR2 you will be dissapointed with SR3 as the story is not as clever as before. Its fun to freeroam and play 2 player, but didnt give much replay-ability value for me to bother with.
