Product Description

Features

* 3" 240 × 400 widescreen color TFT LCD screen, STM32 is the master MCU, with the FPGA to implement the control and management of external ADC and data cache.
* MCU and the FPGA are selected QFP100 package, ADC selected QFP48 package.
* 36M+36M sampling frequency, the use of the ADC AD9288-40 chip, single-channel maximum sampling frequency of the 72M.
* FIFO RAM has a maximum operating frequency of use of> 200MHz low-power FPGA to achieve.
* The AD9288-40 Overclocking to achieve 72M+72M sampling frequency, so that the maximum single-channel sampling rate up to 144M.
* Analog channel circuit using unity gain> 150MHz op amp, so the actual 30MHz analog bandwidth is expected to do more.
* As low power, low-cost, QFP package and other conditions of the FPGA, storage capacity is not large, so DSO203 sampling depth of the current situation for the multi-channel 4096 points per channel, single-channel work cases, 8192 points.

Unit arrived well packed and promptly. Unit supplied has a transparent black surround, rather than the silver shown. The display is easily readeable and the connectors and legends well identified. The two analogue probes supplied were switchable X1 / X10 probes and of acceptable quality. No probes for the two digital channels supplied (which was a shame) - I have since purchased two more analog probes to use on the digital channels as they all use the same connectors. I found the manual quite difficult to follow and downloaded an alternative one from a link on google for the DS203. Once you get used to the navigator left / right / press controls and the button to switch from the horizontal to vertical menu items, life gets somewhat easier. The sampling rate / bandwidth could be a restriction for some uses, but in general it is a very useful, portable tool to have. I haven't tried updating the software in the unit from the version supplied, because I couldn't find a copy of the version I have at present and was concerned that I may never get back to a working unit as a consequence. There are some open source applications I would like to try on this unit, having said that. I found that trying to change the trigger from CH1 to CH2 a challenge to start with, but once you get the hang of it, its acceptable. I currently have a problem displaying single shot captures. The unit Triggers, but no traces are displayed. (I can however download the traces to my PC - a bit weird). This is quite a good tool for hobbyists and useful for professionals (but don't get the idea that it will replace your HP/ Tektronix scope, it won't). One very annoying feature is that switching it off and then back on looses all your settings and you have to go back through the laborious process of setting it up again. ( I believe that you can save and reload your setting manually, but haven't had much success with it).

The OEM seriously need to explain all it can do & how to do it. The acronyms are not all obvious & after a several attempts in the month I've had it, I still haven't managed to save & replay a trace or understand other functions. There need only be a link to the manufactures web site giving help. I've given it a 3 stars rating as I've only managed half of the OEM's stated functionality. April 2012.

Great little oscilliscope.
I've found it invaluable for showing whats actually going on.
Infuriating user interface.
Tip: only charges when switched off.

The Portable Oscilloscope arrived in good time. I was able to get it up and working within minutes.

It takes a little while to figure out how to set up the triggering and ranges, but a few minutes fiddling plus reading the somewhat inadequate manual on line and I think I had worked out how to do what I needed.

Overall great service, neat product.
