from page one I was hooked and found that I couldn't put it down,it's a real page turner and also so accesable and easy to read, a real delight.
Vajragupta has a way of putting things that really make you think about your everyday experiences, and how we react. I bought the book and I know it will be one that I always go back to,he has so much wisdom and incite into our everyday lives.
This is a lovely, gentle walk through some of the most helpful Buddhist teachings about how meditation, mindfulness, can aid us in attempts to live with more equaniminty in a world that tries to pull us hither and yon with its claims that success, fame, happiness can be found "This way!". Vajragupta helps us to develop awareness of the narratives in society, and the stories we tell to ourselves and others, so that we become more able to discern when those narratives and stories are unhelpful to us and others.
Practice is the key to integrating the awareness that he advocates: and practice requires discipline - but not a harsh, 'Got to', kind of disclipine, but a more gentle, choosing discpline.
I enjoyed this book and found myself highlighting a lot of it: so I'm sure I'll be dipping in and out of it for a while yet.
