Sail is the concluding book to the fascinating and intriguing taboo book Bait.
Reading Bait was hard as it was such a taboo subject, it didn't help that Blake came across as such as heartless bitch through most the book, but I found the story captivating and I couldn't put it down. After the huge cliffhanger of Bait I was desperate to read Sail and see where the story was going to go and how it was going to end up.
Bait and sail were very different books. Bait was all about the affair, the back and forth between the characters and getting all the information we needed as a reader.
Sail is very different. It is more about getting issues resolved and finding away to move forward when hard decisions have been made.
Blake redeems herself a lot in Sail. After going back and forth between her husband Grant and her lover Casey she finally makes a decision and follows her heart. Things may not of happened the way she planned or wanted, but she was I glad and relieved to have everything out in the open.
Understandable Casey is getting fed up waiting for Blake to make her decision, so everyone could move on with their lives. However before decides to fight for he regardless as he believes they belong together.
With the support of their friends and family Blake and Casey decide that they truly love each other and that they don't wanna live without each other. However things are not
going to be made easy for them and their will be lots of obstacles in their way before they can even think of a happy life.
Blake and Casey have a long road ahead of them to get where they want to be in there relationship. They have many things to overcome and a lot of things to learn about each other but they both hope that their love will be all that matters.
I really loved this story.

Sail is book #2 in the Wake series by M. Mabie, I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

Bait the first book in this series is THAT book, do you know what I mean? It’s the book that will drive you to distraction, the one that has you so amped up your hypo or so frustrated you are throwing things across the room.

I mean how do you follow THAT book?

Well you write a completely different one!! And that’s what M.Mabie has done, she hasn’t tried to recreate the turmoil and angst from Bait, she hasn’t tried to make Casey and Blake’s relationship static and so drama filled it’s almost a soap opera.

Sail is the metamorphosis book, it shows Blake and Casey moving on and growing up. Because that’s what they do in this book, they start their happy ever after. I’m not sure I could have stomached another book like Bait, yet the way their stories are told is similar but all that drama and chaos that they suffered through has paid off because they get to have a future together.

M. Mabie shows Blake and Casey growing as people, they don’t repeat their mistakes again and again hoping for a different outcome. Instead they become a unit, a couple who respects and cares for each other (yeah who saw that coming lol).

There’s still loads of sex in this book and yes it’s hot, but this book isn’t about the sexual chemistry they have. This story is about the love and devotion they have for each other, it’s about them finally pulling their heads out of their a*ses and realizing that they have been given a second chance and that they need to jump on that b*tch and hogtie it down so they don’t miss it!!!

I came to this series late and now I just so thankful for that as I'm not sure I could have taken the wait after finishing Bait.

Sail is the continuation of Blake and Casey's journey. This time around there's no game playing or mis-communication, it's just a beautiful tale of a young couples growth together in their relationship.

Another fab read; great story and packed full of the emotional feels.

OK, so the end of Bait was a cliff-hanger to beat the rest of them hands down, so I was dying to find out where the author was going with this the next book.
I wasn’t exactly a Blake fan in the first book, to be honest I could quite easily have punched her lights out but just because she wasn’t my cup of tea immediately didn’t mean that I didn’t want to find out how the story would unfold.
I mean, now the affair is out in the open, will she work things out with her husband Grant or will she final grow a pair and put an end to the whole pretence?
Can she and Casey make a go of a relationship?
Do they honestly have enough to make it work?
And to top it all there is the whole is she /isn’t she pregnancy thing going on with the she devil Aly?
There was so much going on that it took the skill of an author like M Mabie to be able to put this is a cohesive pattern, to be able to string it all together and to make sure that as a reader you were able to follow the seriously intertwined storylines.
So while Blake turned a corner for me and I got to see her in a completely different light, Grant really got on my nerves… and I mean every last one of them!
And as for Casey, well – all I want to say to M Mabie is Can I keep him?
Blake finally understood the hurt she had caused to those around her and she is more accepting of the impact her actions have had on her family. I liked this version of Blake, I liked that she had grown enough to see that result of her actions and was brave enough to accept the implications that they brought,
I have to say that I think her brother Shane would have an epic story to tell (hint)
The ending is true M Mabie style, it is another cliff-hanger and damn I’m ready for the next one now!!!!
