Product Description

The Sagemcom F@ST PACK Powerline Adaptor turns your home’s existing electrical wiring into a high speed network with no need for new wires or drilling. By simply plugging a powerline unit into a plug socket, you can turn any power outlet into a potential multiple connections network point via the three ethernet ports on the 503P unit. No configuration is required, simply plug the adapters into your power sockets and you can establish networking infrastructure in no time at all to access digital media devices, games consoles, print servers, computers and network storage devices throughout your home. Sagemcom's F@ST PLUG MULTI has a contemporary white finish blending it in front of any power outlet.

With a network data transfer rate speed of up to 500Mbps, F@ST PLUG MULTI provides speedy connections and allows you to connect computers, HD TV's, networking devices, Smart TV recorders such as Youview and BBC iPlayer PVRs, and gaming consoles. Share internet connections and experience smooth files transfers and multi media streaming with this simple and easy to set up device, making it a great choice for an easy to build multimedia entertainment network. F@ST PLUG MULTI is capable of supporting all kinds of bandwidth-intensive applications such as HD or 3D video streaming or gaming.

How Power-line Networking Works - Power-line networking is a way to connect computers etc in your home. It uses the electrical wiring in your house to create a network. Power-line networking is based on the concept of "no new wires." The convenience is even more obvious because while not every room has a phone jack, you will always have an electrical outlet. Because it requires no new wiring, and the network adds no cost to your electric bill, power-line networking is the cheapest method of connecting computers etc in different rooms. The Powerline connection works by transmitting data through the electrical wires between the two adaptors, so you will need at least two powerline plugs connected with one adaptor connected to your router and the other adaptor plugs into a power socket in a far room. Your network signal is then transmitted from the adaptor connected to the router to the other adaptor via your electrical wiring. Therefore this twin pack design is ideal for new users establishing their first PLC network or experienced users intent on expanding their networks.

Simply pair the two adaptors with a push of a button and you can then set up a hassle-free Powerline network within minutes complete with 128-bit AES encryption for network security.

Why choose Sagemcom ? Sagemcom are the No.1 supplier of ADSL routers in the UK and supplied over 2.5 million routers to the UK in 2012. Three generations of SKY products were manufactured by Sagemcom since 2007.

I purchased these to add to my new AV500 home network - replacing an old AV200 set-up with a TrendNet Access Point - all of which was proving unreliable and slow, needing daily reboots.

The old access point I replaced with a Sagemcom 502W wi-fi extender. The old AV200 devices were replaced with Sagemcom 501 adapters. I have reviewed the 501 and 502W devices separately. I used the 502P in this kit as it has the convenience of 3 x RJ45 LAN ports. These I have connected to a Smart TV, a NowTV box and a YouView box.

I ignored the instructions because, as for all Sagemcom products, they are useless! That being said, installation was easy and very fast taking less than 2 minutes to plug in and pair with the other PowerLine adapters. All you need is to look at the table in the Quick start guide telling you how to use the "Security" button.

I have been running the network now for about a week with no issues at all - and with good data through put.

It helps that our house has been recently rewired. However, it does seem that for a good and reliable PowerLine network, using devices all from the same manufacturer pays dividends. In this case, I have no hesitation in recommending this kit, the 502P and Sagemcom AV500 Powerline products in general. All work fine for me - it's just a shame about the poor user documentation.

At less than £27 for this kit (1×501 + 1×502P) from Amazon, I think this represents excellent value for money.

I've tried a few mains adapters now because I've always had problems with wifi in my room.

TP Link adapters were constantly disconnecting.
Devolo adapters emitted a high pitch whine.

These ones work. Finally...ones that work as they should.

I've got a 30mb connection plugged straight into the router. Through these adapters I get around 20mb, which obviously isn't quite as advertised (500mbps transfer rate should equate to a 62.5MB connection). However I have now found a product which works and is reliable. None of the adapters will deliver the advertised speed, so consistency is really what's important. And this one just works.

I was originally going to get the 501 single adapter (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sagemcom-Plug-Powerline-Adapter-Pack/dp/B00C1CX8WW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392425785&sr=8-3&keywords=sagemcom+internet+adapter)

But for an extra 9 quid, I thought I might as well get these. You never know when you might want an extra mains socket or ethernet socket.

My PC using Broadband used to run about 3.9 Mbps, I had fibre broadband installed and on WiFi the speed rose to 8Mbps this was an improvement. I have a couple of tablets which my wife uses and near the router the speed was 36Bps. I decided to buy these Powerline Adapters and connecting them up as recommender the speed immediately rose on the PC to 38 Mbps. Fantastic, when downloading from the net it is as if it was already installed in the PC. These units are worth every penny so buy some and get rid of WiFi.

I bought this product to connect my freeview box to the internet. My router is in the hallway and the box is the upstairs bedroom. It work perfectly. I tried it with my computer by disconnecting the wireless connection and it work well. Just make sure you connect the two unit into the mains and not extention boxes.

I needed a solution to Wi-Fi issues with my PS3 and, having just bought a network enabled AV receiver, I needed either a Homeplug or Wi-Fi extender/adapter.
Homeplug seemed the better solution. But which one?
I needed multiple inputs and an A/C passthrough.
Choice came down to this one and the Devolo triple.
I balked at the Devolo's price compared to the Sagemcom's and reviews of high pitched whines on the Devolo made me plump for the Sagemcom.
So glad I did. Installation is fool proof. Just plug both adapters into the mains and check that both 'home' lights light up on both adapters. That's it, done! Plug your equipment in and away you go. As they're already paired at the factory, there's no need to pair them again.
One thing to point out: if after plugging both in and then going back to check the first plug has its 'home' light lit, it may well be in idle mode already. This is good as it's already found the other plug and gone into power saving mode. Once your equipment is plugged in, both 'home' lights will be lit again.
Can't believe I've struggled with Wi-Fi for so long without trying these.
I highly recommend these Sagemcoms and will by more if I need them.

The sender is a lovely compact unit which as it only needs one cable (instead of three) keeps the area behind you router nice and tidy. The signal transmitted even through my terribly wired, old house is better (I get average 30mb download on wireless was actually 1 or 2mb better through this).
Perfect for non-wirless tec, I actually use it for my PS3 as the wireless in it tends to drop signal every once in a while which is very frustrating it hasn't dropped once since using this.
The receiver unit is twice the size of the sender, thanks to the 3 ports and socket, so you want it hidden behind a desk or something!
The instructions are terrible thankfully you don't need them, just remember to plug the sender in before the receiver and it does the rest almost instantly.
