Balanced Flavours start with the right amount of grinds. How do you repeat the dose every time? The Dose Control Pro delivers a consistent dose each time you grind. Includes 60 grind settings from Espresso to Plunger.Conical burr grinders are most commonly used in commercial environments. The heavy burrs deliver a very consistent grind for a balanced extraction. They also turn more slowly to minimise heat transferring to the grinds to maximise flavour.Different coffee styles require different grind sizes to maximise flavour, be it plunger, espresso or drip filter. Grinders with more adjustments will allow more flexibility.

It's great. Easy to fill and use - once you do some trial runs to fine tune the grind and time of grinding. Initially, for personal preference to get coffee how I like it, it took quite a few uses, but I used some older beans that I was intending to throw out anyway so no real loss. Would recommend that buyers take the time to experiment as after you have your settings sorted, it is so easy to use.
I use the pause every time - I like to take out the porta filter part way through and give it a dunt onto the work mat to compact the grounds, then finish the filling. That way there is no spillage to clear up. I found if I ground the amount I wished, given the fact that fresh ground coffee has much more volume, it spilled a little from the porta filter either before or more likely after removal and during the tamping process, and then after tamping you needed a top up. The few seconds to pause, remove, dunt, replace, and restart are well worth it IMO and saves waste and the time to clean up.
A small amount of grounds are "held" in the grinder but not a significant amount. They usually can be dislodged by a light tap on the side of the machine, or if I have not used the machine for a day, I just run it a couple of seconds into a waste container to clear, then grind as normal.
The Razor tool is practical, but really only useful to beginners or until you fine tune your grind time, as after that the machine is so consistent that it is just right every time, and the level does not need checking. Of course I use a good quality tamper and this help.
Very happy with this machine which gives a consistent grind in a very easy way. BTW I have not experienced any static with this machine unlike my last one that had coffee grounds clinging everywhere and all the hassle that entailed.
After doing a little research on upgrading my grinder, my findings are,
The grinder is the most important part of your coffee set up. It's the first place (apart from water) that you should spend your coffee equipment budget.
Conical burrs are good - they reduce the footprint of your grinder. Ceramic extend the life of the burrs and allow more KG to be ground. Steel are better and flat steel burrs produce a better taste. The larger the burr the less RPM and less heat put in to the coffee. Big burrs mean big price!
I purchased the Dose Control Pro with steel burrs, and what a difference! Combined with my Duo Temp Pro, I am now extracting coffee to a consistent, high and thoroughly enjoyable, standard
After reading a few reviews of people saying it would not go fine enough for espresso, I straight away took the top burr out and adjusted the setting to 5 (default 6) then adjusted the main collar to 5. Ran a shot and took over 40 secs! After a bit of tweaking, now getting consistent shots at around 8-10 on the collar giving 2oz at 25secs.
Easy to clean, very consistent grind, does throw some grind out the porter filter but all you have to do is, pause the grind half way knock it down and resume the grind.
Only down side is the grind time can only be set in increments of seconds, would like to be able to grind for 10.5 secs! Only minor though
