Worth taking the time to read. Not overbearing. Giving a thoughtful message that is of value to carers and the bereaved alike.
I got a sense of satisfaction from reading this, because my work draws me close to terminal people regularly and I recently suffered the loss of my own Mum.
I feel that noone can have enough help and guidance at this special time and yet it is not intrusive.
I would strongly recommend anyone to try and read it, if just for peace of mind.
Very helpful to reduce fear and it is also informative.
I bought this book a few months before my very elderly mother had a stroke and it certainly helped me make decisions that were person-centred about her care. It also gave me a sense of being able to 'do' something to help my Mum in her final journey.
I am terribly surprised that this book isn't a number one best seller, considering we're all going to die and in the UK alone over 1/2 million people die everday.
Felicity makes the pain and anguish of death become a natural part of life. It ceases to be this big 'THING' that hovers overhead, scaring the living day-lights out of us.
As an alternative practitioner, I was already well versed in remedies and helping symptoms, so in the chapters where she suggests reflexology/aromatherapy and sound healing/helping I had something to follow and guide me. And that having someone guide you is extremely important with the death of a loved one, as you feel alone in your actions, so what must your relative feel?
When Felicity explains exactly what happens, and even includes 'what does it feel like to die' which I found very useful.....I got a sense of this being something to work on not fight against.
I couldn't give this book a bigger rating, but I would if I could.
Excellent, inspiring, practical, soul-centred, loving and makes you feel safe, secure and understood. That in turn makes your loved one feel those same feelings:)
