I have got the drive bitlockered and this hasn't reduced the performance drastically. The battery life seems at least on a par with the previous NVMe drive too.

I have got the drive bitlockered and this hasn't reduced the performance drastically. The battery life seems at least on a par with the previous NVMe drive too.
I’ve owned a fair few SSDs and a few NVME drives. This NVME meets its expectations when it comes to performance. Over 3000 read speed is impressive. Windows 10 went from a usb install to on the desktop in under 15 minutes. Including updates. Windows loads in seconds. Sounds perfect. Well, it’s very good but not perfect.
When compared to a high end NVME it is not as responsive and, whilst it gets to windows quick, background apps take longer to load. I expect there is more to loading and access times than just fast read speeds.
Whilst not as good as a high end NVME (no surprise given the price) it is clearly faster than an SSD. But at nearly double to the cost of a 240GB SSD it is not twice as fast. The upgrade isn’t as noticeable, not the step up I’d expect when I hear NVME and 3000MB/s speeds.
So why 5 stars? Because it delivers on what it promises. At the price it sits in the middle ground between an SSD and a high end NVME. Both in terms of price and it’s performance. It’s an upgrade you’ll notice and if you’ve never had better then it will feel the best you can get.
Oh and it gets hot but not too hot.

although these are priced attractively you need not purchase from double costed bigger players as I have other similarly priced ssds bought at the same time that are still operational. But as always Caveat Emptor, do not be unduly swayed by long warranties and influenced by packaging as these are designed to sucker the unwary and overly optomistic... By allmeans buy and verify yourselves, but do rigorous use for extended time before trusting your data and work to these overly hot runing sticks. Very dissapointed. as you may have read heat is the bane of these devices. In my case I had these in finned aluminium external enclosures with thermal contact strips to keep em cool etc, but these suckers run exceptionally hot such that one suspects their design is destroying info rapidly and excessively hence high entrophy, this is verified simply by the other M2 PCIe ssds I have that in contrast run cool as a whistle in comparison and are still kicking. Ssds are over-hypped but it is somewhat understandible but now I'd take a slow spining disk over the jepardy of these wunderkind which might be good for WOWing the Natives but not for the Argonauts of this Brave New World.
Yes another bites the dust because I had the termerity to use it, they are going down like 10 pins when played with.
Meanwhile Amazon is taking its own sweet black time posting this so that it doesn't interfere with their accumulation of lucre: I'm sounding the alarm but they care not.
