I was surprised when I installed the drive as I was expecting it to be a bIt slower than the slightly more expensive Sabrent drive and slower than its more expensive counterparts.

I am getting the advertised speeds and the system is stable. I have been running the drive for a few weeks now and I am impressed.

Easy to install

Great drive for the price, not good for an external drive on Mac though

I bought this and a NVMe enclosure to have a large and fast external. I have a Mac which has Windows installed on it and on the Windows partition I was getting the speed I was expecting via USB 3.2 Gen 2 (second screenshot), however when I booted into macOS I was getting significantly lower read speeds (third screen).

I do have a Desktop with a smaller Samsung NVMe SSD so I swapped those round and got read speeds of over 900Mbps in macOS with that, so there's something with this SSD that macOS does not like. I tried the Sabrent Rocket Control Panel but get an error when I check for firmware updates and apparently the drive is up to date, can't say that I'm too impressed with the SW. I had read on a few reviews that Sabrent had chosen to go with 4K blocks rather than 512B, but when I checked mine was already set to 512B.

So I've changed my plans and using this in my PC and the speeds are fantastic (first screen), if you're getting this drive for a Windows 10 build then you can't go wrong. Great speeds and the price for 2TB is fantastic, if Macs are involved though you probably want to look elsewhere.

Excellent M.2 enclosure with a quality build and well thought out design and thermal solution. Tool less really does make a difference and it's so convenient.

Please note that unless you're using a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) port, you will not experience the full 1000MBps read/write speeds. Not all laptops have these newer ports and not all USB-C ports are alike.

The enclosure still works perfectly with the USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) port but your speeds will be limited to round about 460MBps read/write. I installed a reasonably priced WD SN550 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD and the performance is in line with my expectations. The enclosure runs cool and performance great.

Highly recommended, several times faster than traditional magnetic drives and a lot more reliable/rugged 👌🏻

This was my first foray into the world of NVME and this seemed like a good choice to start me off with reviews stating speeds and reliability, and I was not disappointed. My read speeds are higher than the 3200MB/s that they quote and the write speeds are nearly spot on too. I have it installed on a Gigabyte B450M Gaming motherboard and had no issues with either the install or firmware/drivers etc. I am highly impressed with this for £99 and will definitely be buying another of these at some point soon.

WARNING DO NOT BUY FOR ANY OS LESS THAN WINDOWS 10!!

Preface:
I have a duel boot system & brought this because the SSD that I had Windows 10 installed on had died.

Initial impressions:
When I plugged this in & booted to Windows 7 with the intent to mount it & pre format it to start my Windows 10 installation, the device did not show, either in disk management or even in the device manager. I tried installing it in a few locations (I have a m.2 slot on the motherboard itself & a multi m.2 pcie card) but that had no effect, in fact placing it in the m.2 pcie card stopped other drives in that card from being detected even in the bios.

Windows Installation:
After placing the card back into the motherboard mount, I booted into the Windows 10 installation & it was detected there were no problems formatting it & installing.

Usage:
After making sure to have my fresh installation fully updated I ran some speed tests & the drive ran at the full speeds advertised. I installed some applications & games & they all ran quickly & smoothly, copying files also confirmed the speed was being reported accurately.

In summary:
This drive does not play well with others & can cause other drives to not even report to the bios especially if they are sharing a pcie lane. Also the lack of Windows 7 (and presumably below) compatibility is a bit of a downfall as I was hoping to store & access files on Windows 7 as well, now any files or programs installed on this drive can only be used by Windows 10.

All of the problems listed above are probably caused by the firmware & are most likely related to badly coded firmware rather than a hardware fault or chip incompatibility.

The drive does seem cheap & has poorly coded firmware I would not store any very important files on this drive as I am not sure of its long term stability.

IS 2TB enough? Probably not - 120Mbyte was enough some years ago....a lot of years ago.....

Not much to complain about - very good, fast, and reasonably easy to install. A bit fiddly, but not too bad.

Word of warning - this M.2 SSD comes in a very nice metal box, with fancy padding inside (presumably a simple plastic bubble card wouldn't do), but no screw to fix to motherboard. So hopefully you didn't throw away the motherboard fixing like I did. My fault entirely, but it would be handy to include a spacer/screw at a few pence to save any grief.
Lets assume M.2 screw mount point is same for all motherboard manufacturers...........
That must be true surely???????

Great value for money, you wouldn't find a cheaper 2TB nvme m.2 pci-e gen 3 drive brand new anywhere else. Be careful installing it as to reach top speed it needs to be in a slot that support gen 3 x4 speeds/gen 4 x2 speed, or it will get bottlenecked. I experienced this when the drive was running at 1.7GB/s and thought it was faulty but it was because my it was in x2 mode. It hits 3GB+ when switched it over.
