The build quality is superb. so very simple to setup. everything aligns perfectly and the heat sink is decent. They include a thermal pad, which depending on the M.2 drive that you use, can vary the fit between firm and a bit of a struggle for reassembly. in the end, I used the Netac 700 2TB, which doesn't have too much circuitry bulge. it was a perfect fit, a great drive and runs lightening fast.

I can see there are some negative comments here from people who have had genuine issues. I can only assume that Sabrent have improved the design, as i was so impressed with the build quality.

Like all PC peripherals, you have to be aware of the added heat, and improve your case cooling if required. Personally, i have a gaming rig with some 5 Cooler Master MF140's plus a 360 water cooler for my CPU, so the added heat made zero difference for me. but it is something to bear in mind.

I was warned that using the empty slot would have a speed impact on my graphics card. This has not proven to be the case, as i still benchmark the same, except now i have 2 extra hard drives. giving my system 6 NVMe M.2's now. I did a lot of readin, and where performance does drop, the amount is negligable. Personnally, I am fortunate enough to have a very powerful Asus Rog Strix z790f motherboard. Which i think is the reason why I am not seeing a performance drop. So again, you need to be aware that for older boards, you might have a small drop in performance from your graphics card.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these adaptors to my family and friends, as they are a great way to use an unused PCIe slot.

Had an old 1150 socket motherboard which was too old to have the NVME slot. Found this and bought it.

Plugged it all in and it worked like a charm. Build quality is really good for the price, I can't knock it. It's given me double the storage at insane speeds for a fraction of the size.

This is well worth the money and for the storage on old PC's really helps prolong your PC life if you are holding on to old components.

I bought this adapter card to install an NVMe M.2 SSD on my desktop PC that does not have an M.2 slot on the motherboard. It was very easy to install and set up.

The card is well made and sturdy. It has a metal bracket that fits into any PCIe x16/x8/x4 slot on the motherboard. It also has a screwdriver and screws included for securing the SSD on the card.

The card has a large aluminum heat sink that covers the entire SSD and helps dissipate heat effectively. The heat sink has thermal pads that make good contact with the SSD surface.

The card works flawlessly with my NVMe M.2 SSD. It recognizes it as a bootable drive and delivers fast transfer speeds via PCIe lanes. I did not notice any performance issues or compatibility problems.

The price is reasonable for such a high-quality product.

The only minor downside of this card is that it might block some adjacent slots on the motherboard due to its size. However, this is not a problem for me as I have enough free slots.

Overall, I would highly recommend this adapter card to anyone who wants to upgrade their PC with an NVMe M.2 SSD

For the price this is well worth it. Sabrent is a company whose drives I've used before so seeing this from them was a no-brainer. My motherboard has two NVMe slots and I wanted to add a third drive. This little contraption does the job. The build quality is surprisingly good for the price, it doesn't feel cheap at all. I bought this in order to use an old NVME drive which I had replaced with a faster and larger version in my gaming PC and use it in my aged Intel i7 3770k system which does not have an M2 slot. This worked perfectly and the drive actually tested faster using this that it did natively in my gaming PC's M2 slot. It has a pad to create contact with the metal heat sink. my only grip is that the screws holding it together are miniscule! I don't think you can get better for the price but there are more expensive versions which will allow you to install more than a single drive.

As per the title, the instruction booklet and pictures are NOT accurate, as far as the screw used to mount the NVME drive. In fact, you DO NOT fasten a screw from the top at all, as there is not one there or even one supplied. When I got the product, I thought a screw was missing. Traditionally, NVME drives are inserted into the socket at an angle, then rest against a standoff where the drive is level to the motherboard. A screw is then screwed into the standoff to tighten the drive down and keep it from moving. This is NOT the way with this product. Instead, you must unscrew the screw at the BOTTOM of the adapter that is holding the standoff, so that the standoff can be removed and notch into the edge of the NVME drive from the side. There is a ridge around the standoff that the edge of the NVME sits into, like a puzzle and locks it into place. Then you re-secure the standoff to the adapter from the bottom screw, where it originally was when you got it. More confusingly, the standoff itself has a threaded screw hole, which makes you attempt to mount it the way I described typically with a motherboard. The standoff even accepts a screw (I found a spare one), and if you do it this way, the NVME drive will be mounted an an angle and not parallel to the adapter board. This in turn will prevent you from closing the metal casing flush. So long story short, UNSCREW the standoff, notch it into the NVME from the side, and screw it back onto the adapter from the underside. Everything will fit back together this way and allow the drive casing to sit flush. Maybe this is obvious, but it wasn't to me. Hope this helps someone. :)

(Just realized the Amazon product photos show how to properly install this, as I described before. The included booklet is still wrong, which was what I was using only. Who would think to use the Amazon ad to do the install? So I guess use the Amazon pictures instead!)
