Everybody has Dr Dre Beats which I found a bit too bassy with a tinny top end on the stuff I listen to. May be OK with the "wickety wickety thmp thump" rubbish and the kiddie pop x factor stuff but for serious listening they are merely OK, they seem to be tweaked to enhance poor quality MP3 at the expense of pretty much everything else like a cheap graphic equaliser badly set up - and vastly overpriced probably because they are fashionable. Good noise cancellation though.
The Ludacris Soul cans are much clearer, tighter bass, sweet treble and a really clear open mid-range. Sond reasonably good on bog standard MP3s where they do not try to enhance anything but really go to work on lossless FLAC or CD sources pladed through a proper CD player and a decent amp. Much cheaper than beats but better quality sound. Blue lights are a bit pointless but you can turn this off and you need a decent connection cable - the stock one is OK but has a built in volume switch which ruins the quality. Noise cancellation cuts a bit of background noise and works unobtrusively but is not great.
Good price and better quality for serious muso's but not as good as the latest Bose cans.
