You can use Skype no problem. I'm going to say no you can't use a dongle on account that there is no USB slot. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Joolsagen

Not sure what you need but, the Galaxy doesn't have a USB slot so there is no where to plug in any USB peripherals

@ Bookworm - Please to see that you can use Skype without problem on the Tab. I had read that there were difficulties using it. Have you made Skype to Skype video calls or just voice calls to landlines? Seriously considering buying one of these to take abroad on holidays (with Kindle, of course!) and Skype would be a great bonus. Many thanks.

@Bookworm
Many thanks for your reply. May I just ask two more questions? Does it support downloading from BBC iPlayer and is it good as a picture viewer? I tried Asda online but they have sold out! Thanks again for your help.

Edit: I have just read the reviews and see that there are no problems downloading from iPlayer.

the so-called "proprietary usb" slot is actually a 30 pin slot (which doesnt look like a regular usb slot) but you can get a usb adapter and use any usb device (flash drives, dongles, etc) However you need to do a lil bit of tweaking of the internet options... (google and see)
