Product description

Review

a really innovative way to engage young learners A really innovative way to engage young learners, striking the right balance between work and play. My daughter takes the books with her everywhere she goes. Suddenly revision is no longer a chore. I d recommend this series of books to anyone who wants to encourage their youngsters to increase their out of hours learning. A real opportunity to make progress outside of the classroom. About the Author

I am an accidental author. I found it difficult to engage with my daughter Nicole s homework. Conventional resources were boring and dry, offering no real parent-child engagement. Personal frustration and the application of parental pressure were having a negative effect at homework time. To try to make a difference, I converted some homework into crosswords to make it fun. When she came to do her SATs at end of primary school, I realised that I had converted much of the National Curriculum into crosswords. I produced a few books as mementos of the fun we had shared and the things we had both learned. Waterstones saw the book from a teacher at her school. They suggested that they waned to stock it, so I printed more. After a short local trial, the books were distributed nationally very quickly. It became clear that the homework headache existed in every house, not just mine and I was inspired to publish a complete set of KS1 and KS2 titles, all of which continue the fun approach enabling children (and their parents) to enjoy learning.
