Having spent 3 months working on numerous carpentry projects I became sick and tired of my £40 argos vacuum. The tiny capacity meant emptying the unit 2 or 3 times in a single use, and the filter was constantly clogging up with sawdust. Evidently using a domestic vacuum for industrial use just wasn't working out.

"How much better can a £90 vacuum from SIP be?" I wondered. Much better as it turned out.

Firstly the unit is grey not black as per the picture, but that didn't matter. The cylinder while not physically huge stores a huge amount of waste, and the large 100mm hose will ensure it'll never get clogged up.

To my surprise the unit comes not only with the 5 piece adapters (which fit everything i've tried to plug into it) but also the filter and 5 vacuum bags to keep the dust out of the filter. So far this setup seems very effective and the vacuum hasn't lost any suction in the few days I've used it.

Better still, I can plug in the vacuum attachment from my old argos unit and use it as a traditional vacuum and that really shows that this is a far better quality unit.

For the price, you can't go wrong. If you're even an occasional woodworker or hobbyist, this will help to keep away all the dust nicely.

Well over the last few years renovating my house and using the garage as a defacto woodwork shop I finally became so hacked off with sawdust and wood particulates from planers and router benches I bought this.

Cheap - and the same as the other brand marketed vacuums in a similar price range. I didn't see any point in buying a different more expensive brand with the only differences being a higher price and different colour.

It comes with a range of adaptors that fit my fixed machines with no problem at all. Hose is long enough to be useful - but no extra if that makes sense.

The vacuum has a fine particulate cartridge filter and a whole heap of pre-filters supplied that go over it to preserve it. Should last a long time before needing changing.

Not too noisy in use although like any vacuum it's a relief when it's turned off. Enough power to remove all the chippings and dust when working on my machines so no issues there.

Overall a great machine vacuum that any workshop should have. Could save your lungs.

The dust collector does just what I expected and overall is decent quality. I use it for my table saw and planer/thicknesser and it works fine. I also connect it to an old house vacuum hose and it works well to clean up the floor. It is about as loud as any other shop vac, so yes ear plugs are recommended. For what I was looking for a home shop I'm happy. It's a dust collector so I'm not going to say I love it...

This extractor was well packaged and delivered quickly. I have used it with a planner and a band saw and the extractor is efficient and fairly quiet. The connector set is a useful addition for smaller machines such as my disc & belt sander. The connection hose is very sturdy and fairly rigid ( you may with to buy a more flexible hose if you have to navigate awkward positions). Overall and good buy

This was purchased for limited use on a bench saw and wood lathe. Build quality seems good, noise level a little high but ear plugs deal with that. Two points.
One the hose is very stiff which is a pian when switching between machines.
Two the fitting that the hose locates onto the machine is too short which makes it very hard to get a good fit as the hose tends to pull off the machine.
In use it seems to work well the dust level has much improved since starting to use it.

Bought this in the hope that I could connect it to power tools including my circular saw, sander and router. Sadly I don't think it will work. The hose supplied has a large diameter and although there are a range of adapters supplied they don't seem to fit together and don't offer a suitably small connection for my hand tools. I bought a length of smaller diameter hose and some jubilee clips which did allow me to connect to an orbital sander but it was very cumbersome. Sadly after I'd finished the job and I was putting the kit away,Netherlands large hose came off the cylinder and filled the room with dust anyway. It also gets extremely hot if it runs for any length of time?
So I think I made a mistake with this purchase.

I'm sure it is useful in the right context though I can work out what that is. I can't imagine what/how I would attach this to anything???
Maybe as time goes on I'll find more uses for it but A smaller diameter flexible hose would be useful. Plus, if all the adapters locked into each other it might work better.
Suggest you buy Gaffer tape with this purchase.

I use this extractor regularly on my table saw, planer and bandsaw. It does the job really well although capacity is relatively low it's easy to empty and is compact. The build quality is very good and the supplied hose is surprisingly good too. It's noisy but I wear ear defenders as a matter of course so no biggy.

A few problems when it arrived, the hose had split into two pieces (it's very stiff) and the plastic retainers that hold the vacuum motor to the drum had snapped. Made my own repairs rather than sending back and am quite happy with the results of this vac in my workshop. It is rather noisy though.
