- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2024Style Name: SingleVerified PurchaseThe Shimano Alivio RD-M3100 Rear Derailleur is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their 9-speed mountain bike's drivetrain. Featuring a sleek, low-profile design and Shadow RD technology, this derailleur provides smooth, reliable shifting while minimizing chain slap and damage from rocks.
The 45-tooth total capacity and 36-tooth maximum low sprocket size make it compatible with a wide range of cassettes, while the adjustment barrel allows for easy tuning to achieve optimal shifting performance.

Bill A.Reviewed in the United States on 14 September 20235.0 out of 5 stars Good derailure, very interesting design.
Style Name: SingleVerified PurchaseThis was an inexpensive Shimano Alvio class derailure system that I bought for my old Rans Nimbus long wheelbase recumbent. The freewheel is a Shimano 7 speed mega and I also changed out the shifter from a Revoshift to a Shimano trigger shifter.
What surprised me was how close the derailure rides next to the wheel spokes. It never touched but I had to tie the cable tail back so I wouldn't touch the spokes.
It shifts very well especially after changing out the old chain to a KMC 8 speed.
