Product description

About the Author

Pamela was born into a large, loving family in North-West England. Following a convent school education, she entered a teaching career which spanned more than twenty years. During that time she developed an holistic, ‘hands-on’ teaching method which helped earn her a place on the prestigious American Science Grasp programme. At the same time she completed her Master’s degree in Language, the Arts and Education. With a passion for writing, and her interest in Human Development expanding to incorporate NLP and EFT training, she has published a self-improvement handbook, two collections of poetry and three novels, in addition to developing educational resources, and writing blogs and articles. A lover of travel, her wanderlust has led her to live in the United States and Turkey. She is currently settled in the Peak National Park district, still close to her beloved birthplace of Manchester, with two lovely sons and a lively Lapp Hund. ©Pamela Turton

Read this in one day, which says it all, because I neglected everything else! Found the story wonderfully written and totally absorbing, not least because it sheds a different light on the stories you see and hear in the media.

Having read Pamela’s book, The Life Coach Less Travelled, I felt compelled to read another one, and turned immediately to Selling Short.

Unlike “Life Coach”, Selling Short has what I would consider to be a traditional story arc, with a beginning, middle and end. What it also has is Pamela’s terrific way with the written word. It is hard for me to define, but the best comparison I can make (which is undoubtedly unfair on both authors), is with JK Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy. The storyline was nothing to get excited about, but the quality of writing and the reader’s involvement with the characters was excellent. It would be fair to say that I experienced similar reactions to Selling Short.

I like a book that, more or less, ties things up at the end and Selling Short does that, though it did feel a little rushed.

I haven’t read any more of Pamela’s books yet, though I will because I like her writing voice. From a purely personal perspective, if she can produce a comprehensive plot to accompany the voice, I think we could have a star on our hands.

I absolutely loved this book! I was surprised at how well it came out in Kindle! I couldn't put it down, you cant help but get engrossed in the story! It was such a change to other true life books, although you read alot about Turkish love rats in the media, you never get a good insight into the whole picture!! Can't wait for the sequel X

An married English woman discovers herself in Turkey leading to a change of life, but the romantic vision she had doesn't match the reality. A sensitively written story that examines the cultural differences between two countries and how they affect emotional relationships.
