Unlike “Life Coach”, Selling Short has what I would consider to be a traditional story arc, with a beginning, middle and end. What it also has is Pamela’s terrific way with the written word. It is hard for me to define, but the best comparison I can make (which is undoubtedly unfair on both authors), is with JK Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy. The storyline was nothing to get excited about, but the quality of writing and the reader’s involvement with the characters was excellent. It would be fair to say that I experienced similar reactions to Selling Short.
I like a book that, more or less, ties things up at the end and Selling Short does that, though it did feel a little rushed.
I haven’t read any more of Pamela’s books yet, though I will because I like her writing voice. From a purely personal perspective, if she can produce a comprehensive plot to accompany the voice, I think we could have a star on our hands.

Living in Turkey, I see a lot of the things described in this book. The book however fizzles out some towards the end. Read morePublished on 5 Feb. 2013 by Jens Schwarz-Nielsen
A compelling and touching story. The writer gives an insight into the way people act the way they do. Recommended holiday read especially for anyone going to TurkeyPublished on 30 Dec. 2012 by Catherine, Manchester
A thoroughly enjoyable read with well developed characters and plot. An insightful look into the two different cultures. I cannot recommend this book enough.Published on 26 April 2011 by Louise H
