Seeing some of the reviews on here already, I don't understand why some people are saying "Don't buy it, its crap" when they've never even played the game.
If you're a matrix fan, you'll love it.
If you're not fussed about the matrix in general, its still a good game. Its a new type of combat system which is different to any other MMORPG, which should make playing the game a lot more exciting.
Plus the attention to detail and atmosphere are absolutely spot on.
If you like MMOs, and enjoyed any of the Matrix movies... this game is a must-buy

The official servers are no longer running, and unfortunately they won’t release the source code, but a somewhat version of the game can be played online you would just need to do the research for the mod to decide if it’s worth it.

Not sure why this game is getting recommended. Amazon should honestly just remove it off the list. It won’t be playable anymore for anyone who buys it.

I never purchased but wanted others to know not to buy since the servers have been removed.

Although Im not a huge Matrix fan i found the game better thenm i was expecting from reveiws i had read. The graphics arn't amazing but there good. There is a strong community and its a very enjoyable game to play, i would recommened getting the Prima Guide for this game if you are interested in the backgrounds of the characters and the game.

This game is, understandably, brilliant. Everything about it screams major breakthrough. The levelling system isn't incredibly easy, but neither is it hard. This game can be greatly appreciated by fans but turned down by hardcore gamers. Combat is greatly refined, the graphics are jaw dropping and the atmosphere is stunning.

I highly recommend a geforce 7600+ graphics card to enjoy this without lag. Once you see past the very few flaws you see the brilliance that is the matrix online.

p.s. Don't go on teh vector hostile as it is very near empty.

When I first bought Matrix Online (to get away from World of WARCRAFT) it was part of a test to see what is probably the best MMORPG. I started playing and loved it! Flying over roof-tops, beating up gangs, it was great fun! but after 2 weeks it started to get VERY REPETATIVE. The quest areas are always the same layout (depending on which part of the city). Even though the combat is alot of fun, it's always the same moves (unless you have some specials). There are no close-combat weapons and some (not all) of the ranged weapons are basically the same. There are some REALLY COOL clothes but only a few give you certain upgrades like health. It really depends what your in to, just try the free trial first then decide if you want to carry on ;)

I was So dissapointed with this game. When the matrix online arrived at my door i opened it up and stuck it in my computer like all games it started installing then it told me to insert disc 2 so i did THEN it said ERROR :CAB4/ IS DAMAGED! CANT READ DISC!? WHAT THE HELL? If this has happend to anyone else can you please reply to this.

Ok alot of people are saying that this game is rubbish and not worth playing, even though they havent played the game! Now that the EULA has been lifted i can give my opinion on the game. Well my review is different i have been beta testing it since Aug-2004 in the closed beta tests. As you may know beta came to an end last night and i have to admit it was thrilling, i look extreamly forward to the release of this game and the story lines look fantastic from what i saw of the sneak preview. I would recomend this game AS LONG as you are a true matrix fan or you WILL NOT understand whats going on, make sure youve played the game, watched the films - including the animatrix, etc. The Blurb on Amazon doesnt do the game justice, for more of a detailed view see the website [...] to get a REAL feel of the game. Just My Opinion and i hope it clears the air on things!
