Frustrating that I can only watch this DVD on my laptop, also frustrated that half of season 1 isn't there as there is 23 episodes in season 1 and this comes with 11

HASH(0x99fdbc54) out of 5 stars DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! 18 Sept. 2012
By D.J.L - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
I thought this was the COMPLETE first season...its not. Its not even stated, but its the first HALF of season 1. The second half of season 1 is titled "season two". Its so stupid! One would think if I buy a DVD that says "season 1" I'd be buying the full season. And one would think that if a DVD says "season 2" it would be the second season, but no, its the second half of the first season. DUMBEST. SYSTEM. EVER. They finally start calling them volumes at volume 3, which is the first half of season two. I'm so aggravated. I almost want to sue ABC for false advertisement. Seriously!!! What were they thinking!!! NO WHERE on this DVD does it say its only the first half of the season!!!!!

HASH(0x99fdbca8) out of 5 stars WHY CALL IT SEASON 1! 3 Mar. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Why call it Season 1 when its only half a season...Season 2 is the second half of Season 1!!! So misleading and when I wrote in about it they told me I should have read the reviews first!!! Why would I read a review if I know what I want to buy??? How about marking the DVD correctly and call it what it is!!! False advertising.

HASH(0x99fe20fc) out of 5 stars Best show on TV 19 July 2011
By Ashanti Surratt - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
With all the stupid crap that comes on television these days, Im proud to have a great, positive show to look forward to every week. This show is realistic. Sure, it has annoying exaggeration on many occasions of events that occur. But, it's only because they want to make everything really clear to a young audience. They tend to be repetitive...very repetitive. Other than that, it's great. It shows you how and why teens may sometimes do the things they do. (Such as get pregnant, practice promiscuous behaviour, have no friends, drop out of school.) I love it. So real and also very funny. And not to mention, it teaches some great values and lessons. highly recommend!

HASH(0x99fe24c8) out of 5 stars Season One of "Secret Life:" 20 July 2011
By brandon90 - Published on Amazon.com

This is a great series. It is very realistic, for one thing. But one thing which it includes that I am really impressed with is the importance of family values, and family itself. During this young teen's pregnancy, she bands together with her friends and family to get through it. There are a lot of tuff decisions which have to be made, and her friends and family help her with this. There are certain people in her life that are very supportive, and some that aren't (but that's the way it always goes in real life).
It is a riveting first season, since there is always some kind of drama or cliffhanger going on between the characters. The main family gets close to falling apart, but tries to stay together, and it's really hard to determine which way it will go. This keeps you interested and eager to find out what happens.
I recommend this to anyone. It's also good for this day and age, since it sharply illustrates the consequences of young teen pregnancy on a young woman's life. Good morals are in here as well, which is also another refreshing thing to find in a modern show today.

HASH(0x99fe2474) out of 5 stars The show sucks! Although it's slightly humorous in places 3 Jan. 2015
By Jason P. Caldwell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Seen much of this show being watched by an 11 year old (girl of course). The show sucks! Although it's slightly humorous in places, it's overly obsessive with the word sex to the point where the dialog doesn't even sound natural. All characters (males, females, counselor, parents, boys, girls, Down syndrome kid, overly religious Christian girl, all of them!!) are totally obsessed with SEX. The show isn't about any secret life of anyone. It seems to be a teen show supposively for the purpose of warning kids about pregnency, but is really about promoting teen SEX SEX SEX. That's what being a teen is all about. Having SEX as much as possible. Nothing seems to be said much about condoms (you'd think a teen show this obsessed with SEX would). And hardly anything to nothing's said of the other parts of these people's lives. Just their SEX lives and SEXual relationships. If you want your young son or daughter to focus their entire teen hood on getting laid, and for them to think that life is primarily if not exclusively about doing this and talking about it all the time, this is a great program for them. But be prepared to raise a teen with a one track mind!
