The APOCALYPSE has just begun....
Sixteen-year-old Rebekah Silver is your average teenager living in Southern California. She worries only about learning her cheerleading routines and passing her math test. But as world dictators rise to power and devastating disasters claim millions of lives she is inspired to search for answers. Becky soon discovers her world is quickly coming to an end, just as it was prophesied. Now she must decide whether to risk her life to follow the laws of God or surrender her soul to the law of man in this action-packed thriller.
Excellent novel, really grips you from start to finish, wrote in an easy to read but thrilling way. What a great writer Patience Prence is on a topic that worries many of us as we see the human race heading straight for disaster. As a christian i found this novel also educational as i also checked out all the references to scripture. After the ending almost left me in tears i just had to go out and buy her second book "Trial by Fire", which is just as good! Cant wait for Patience to pen another novel. Thoroughly recommended, relevant and prophetic, ..a MUST read!
The Bible prophecies about the end times are skillfully woven into an uncompromising event experienced by a young teenager. One moment Becky is chatting to her best friend and dreaming about her footballer pinup and the next she finds herself involved in the events of the apocalypse. Without actually breaking the narrative and for those with an interest in the subject, Patience Prence ties the tale skillfully to the Bible prophecies showing how Bible events which seemed surreal only 20 years ago can easily become every day.
For Bible students there are footnotes hyperlinking the events in her story to the actual Bible verses. For everyone, there is a tense novel with enough reality behind it to make you look twice at the news.
I normally don't enjoy books half as much as I have enjoyed this one. What a story! and what a great way of telling it. Through the eyes of an innocent child we explore just what extremes mankind are capable of. This book really had me glued to it since I first opened it up, I'm terrible with books I will read half way, get bored and not finish it. This book was not the same as the others. Only bad thing is it's very short but this doesn't take away from the excellent story line that I loved.

I really felt for the character of Rebekah and had very mixed emotional feelings at the end but you'll have read it to understand why.
This is a religious novel but you do not need to be so to enjoy the book. If you are not religious you may want to skip what the author has to say at the end of her novel.
I really enjoyed this book and given it one of my rare 5 star ratings."
This was a real page turner. As a believer in end times Biblical prophecy I found this utterly believable but terrifying. Well written and true to scripture it is a book that I would recommend to believers and unbelievers.
Even a searcher or non believer will enjoy this interpretation , it is well told well written and believable. And could even encourage the reader to look into the bible and read revelations for themselves.
