From the Author
S63, portrays the dark side of life and death within a run down area (S63) of south yorkshire, where sex, violence, greed and prejudice overshadow ignorance and niaivete.
The story can come over as being both sexist and indeed dogmatic, however, you have to understand where the story is set.

The language is shocking, the sex graphic, the violence crude .. and the Characters? Jesus Christ - Wow. You have to ask yourself - is this really fiction? Set in the run down South Yorkshire village of Thurnscoe, the plot unfolds a conspiracy of lies and deceit, culminating into an epitaph bearing similarities to that of Sodom and Gomorrah.
I felt the book was indulgent and the violence and sex where shoe horned into the plot, I did feel that it was sexist but the characters where far to sophisticated. These where not people who worked down the mines then got drunk and went home to beat the old woman.
If this is a true representation of the north ten I am syrprised that anyone lives there....oh hang on I live in the north and its not like that.
