Delivered as described and on time in new condition .Unfortunately overall diagram of unit was missing so contacted seller and Ryobi and both sent diagram of assembly by return of e-mail as a pdfs. Excellent service by both.
Assembley is easy and quick. One thing you MUST ensure is that the nozzle is fully extended out to enable unit to run.Unit has a slow start in built feature that saves kickback from motor and should prolong life of motor. Not sure why variable speed controll in encorporated as on suck one needs all available power. Maybe usefull on blow to control piling of leaves.
Wow does the unit work well on all types of leaves--even wet ones. No clogging at all and there is a safety bypass if unit sucks up solid bits so as not to damage the high speed rotor.
Unit is noisy but not excessively so regarding its power and capability.Fairly heavy but shoulder strap makes for easy use.
Really shreads leaves well and probably 19:1 mulching ratio is about right.
If you want a powerful and reliable unit this is the one to get.
As a matter of interest our 9 year old Ryobi unit just needed a replacement front bearing ( £3.45 )to bring it back to life so this shows that this brand , Ryobi, is made to be repaired and spares are available.Motor was well made and I replaced the bearing and rebuilt the unit within 2 hours.
+ Fairly easy to set up and certainly easy to use.
+ Powerful (dealt with wet compacted leaves without a problem).
+ Easy to switch between blow and suck.
+ Reduces size of leaf significantly so can get a fair amount into a relatively small bag.
- Clearer quick start instructions (eg. you need to ensure the nozzle is fully extended or the motor won't start but hidden in small print and I spent 5 mins thinking it was faulty as the power light was on but motor wouldn't start). One off issue as once used for the first time you won't make the same mistake.
- Cable length relatively short so will need an extension for most gardens.
- The bag could have a bigger zip to make emptying the collected leaves easier.
Overall extremely happy with it but the improvement areas lose it a star.
Also dry leaves 'dust' the user as they're forced through the bag weave, leaving you temporarily blinded.
Not my favourite toy!
