Having sent the first one back as it had many parts missing as it was obviously despatched by mistake, amazon cutomer service were excellent and despatched a brand new unopened brush cutter with no problems. Have used the brush cutter a couple of times now and found it to be a quality piece of equipment although i am still strugling with the touch start need a bit more practice i think, would have no problem recommending this product, again execellent customer service from amazon well done.

The first one we received from Amazon ceased up after half an hour of use.

The second one would not start - we tried every way and with a full charge of the battery over several days - with and witout choke and with various ammounts of priming but not a hint of it firing up so it too went back!

We gave it one more chance and the third machine started without too much trouble and has now been used for several hours. When it works, it works well.

We have used the strimmer and hedge curtting attachment.

The first one I received was missing a handle. Amazon were very good and had a new one out to me in 24 hrs (their collection service failed to collect the faulty one though).
The second one's electric start failed after 2 weeks, during which time it had been used about five times. I'll look for a European make now.

I bought the Touch Start Brushcutter with a view to "wreeking havoc" with the weeds in my horse field. Although it was not solely brought for that purpose, it has taken the Docks, Nettles, Creeping Thistle down to nothing with complete ease.
Although the instructions weren't all that clear (needs more detail in the drawings and instuctions) with regard to the change of "heads". It fired up first time with the push of a button. Demolished the weeds in just over an hour which would have taken me a couple of days to do it by hand, and, saved my back of which I'm entirely grateful.
as far as I'm concerned- great machine, cant' wait to buy the hedge attachment!!

bought this item because it had electric start
it is very good value for money. i only wanted the brushcutter but it comes with a good quality strimmer as well. This is a well constructed item and generally good quality
very easy to start and the electric start is very effective.
the only criticism is that the directions on how to remove the strimmer head are not clear - remove the line spool and a bolt is visible in the centre. remove this bolt and the head comes off but remember the bolt is left hand thread!

This is lower priced and apparently versatile - as long as it works. It didn't start easily when warm, and after several hours use ran too slowly to be usable. On searching the internet it seems many other people have the same problem - it seems the fuel/air mixture is set too lean by the factory. The idle (marked L), and fast running (marked H), adjustment screws require a special tool known as a "pacman" style - obtainable for about £15. Some people cut slots in the adjustment screws to adjust with a flat screwdriver, or use a needle nose pliers. I didn't try to get the adjustment done by any official route, instead used a DIY method. This is obviously not easy unless you have adequate experience in this field, and safety must be bourne in mind. I was also concerned that there was no air filter apart from a coarse mesh screen, and fitted a home made 0.25 inch thick piece of foam, which would require mixture adjustment in any case. I adjusted the L and H mixture screws and the machine now starts better, and runs at a usable speed.

In summary, this machine may be ok if you have some experience of 2 stroke engine modification and tuning, otherwise you may be better getting a machine from your local supplier who can give you support. Another minus is difficulty in getting spare parts, so I may be over generous with 3 stars.
Update April 2016: - had a lot of problems with this machine, endless carburettor maintenance required, spark plug problems, avoid unless quality has improved somehow

Arrived very promptly - within 2 days of order. Had to send the battery charger back as the plug was broken - but it was replaced with no problem. Even starting it without the battery is quite easy.

Brush cutting through young gorse brambles and bracken - it works great and takes a lot of knocks easily. But strimming is frustrating as the cords keep falling off even on grass - we now use our old strimmer and don't use this for strimming at all. But it is easy to use; our daughter can use it; its got lots of safety features and seems excellent value for money so far for brush cutting which is what we wanted it for.

well the machine just would not start off the 'touch start' facility so we took it to the authorised repairer under the 24 month guarantee (we've only had it 10 months)...The repairer had appalling customer service - but when they eventually found our machine said they'd undertaken 'undertaken considerable repair'. When we got the machine back it wouldn't work off the pull cord start up but would off the battery which goes flat as soon as its been used just once and then takes 24 hours to recharge.

Repairer said that Roybi were a 'useless company with appalling after sales service and no stock of spare parts.' but the repairer (Austin Eames wrexham) refused to give us details of the work undertaken and hung up on me when I said I'd need these details for Roybi.

so I rang Roybi - held for over 95 minutes for the 3 calls in front of me to be answered - 95 minutes!!! And Roybi are collecting it for repair

SO I wish I hadn't bought it as its a real hassle when it doesn't work - which is more often than when it does
