This was purchased to replace an ageing Flymo mower that was beginning to fall apart. We decided to take the opportunity to look at a solution that got away from having a long mains cable. Our lawn is around 150 sq metres and is best described as utility with some humps and bumps. As we already had some Ryobi One+ products we decided to buy this mower. We were also put off the Bosch alternative by some poor reviews. This mower comes with 2 x 18 Volt 4 Ampere Hour batteries. Both are needed to give the 36Volt operating voltage. Each battery has its own charge level indicator and there is a second charge level indicator on the mower. Only 1 charger is supplied with the mower, so it takes around 4 hours to charge both batteries. This was not a issue for us as we already had a second charger that came with our Ryobi drill. So far we have used the mower twice, once giving a light cut and the second time giving a lower cut. There was still one light on the batteries at the end of this. So we expect to get two cuts before needing to re-charge the batteries. Because there is no mains cable to worry about the time to cut the lawn has reduced by 50%. The mower is easy to handle and much easier to clean around the cutting blade than the Flymo was. Grass collection on the lower cut was not as good as with the lighter cut but this may be because the grass was damp.
The construction of the mower is to a good standard, with everything fitting as it should. The plastic mouldings are clean and seem to be of good quality. The mower is manufactured in The Peoples Republic of China (Taiwan) and not in main land China.
It remains to be seen how the mower survives longer term but it does come with a 2 year warranty. So far things are looking good.

I've used this lawnmower all summer (and autumn!) and it's never put a foot wrong On one charge I can easily do both my front and back garden. ALso the mower is very light and easy to use, and importantly of all cuts the grass than any mower ive ever had. Would definitely recommend!

Love the mower which is fantastic. However the UK price is more than double the Norwegian price and Norway is one of the most expensive places to live on this planet. Currently retailing in Norway at NOK 2699 which is about £217 inc 25% VAT!

Just used it for the first time and I'm very impressed. Loads of power enabled me to do my front garden in about 15 mins. The battery power indicater shows 3 bars (out of 4) left on both batteries. Saves so much agro with corded or petrol ones.

One of the worst purchases I've ever made. The first thing I had to do was buy two more batteries so that the lawnmower would last for my whole lawn, but still it's no good as if I drop it below even the tallest cut length, it cuts out constantly, meaning I have to cut the grass every few days. Genuinely rubbish. I expected far more from ryobi.

A fine little machine. The batteries last long enough for my smallish lawn. The mulching facility's really good - saves emptying the grass box. On the downside, it feels a bit flimsy but that's the trade-off against it's light weight, which I particularly wanted because I need to lift the mower onto several levels of terraced garden. Also like the battery system being interchangeable between other electric tools is very useful.

Excellent product!!
Clean cut, easy to use, takes the back-ache out of mowing.
The one plus battery usability means that you can share the power pack with any other Ryobi One Plus product and that's exactly what I will be doing.
It is at home when cutting my large lawn front and back.
I'll be recommending it to all friends and family as it is that good.

One downside:
A tad expensive..... but worth it when you think of the slow death of the petrol lawn mower and having to get find a lawnmower repair center which is always costly and takes as long as a car to repair.

When I ordered this mower I did not realise that the supplier was based in Germany, which explains why I had to wait several days for its delivery. I was given a delivery window of between 11 April and 15 April. It actually arrived on 16 April. Now I have received it I am well pleased with my purchase. This mower is quite sturdy and with a 40cm cut. I have used it on both my front and rear lawns and found the process much less of a chore. Up to now, because of access, I have used an electric mower for the front lawn with all the hassle of a lead and a smaller cut diameter than the new machine. I found the new mower much quicker to use. I used a petrol mower for the rear lawn which is heavy and awkward to get on to the lawn but a very good cutter. The new mower does the job quicker and easier and just as well. The only draw back with this machine is it does not have a rear roller, so no stripes on the lawn. As far as the battery life is concerned, both my lawns have used up a quarter of the energy available, according to the battery indicators, so I should get at least another two cuts without a charge. I selected this mower because I have other Ryobi tools which I am happy with and the batteries are interchangeable.
